Yay, I got an interview tomorrow
10:45am, means I have to go bed early tonight then lol. Right now what to wear and how to prepare (oh god I rhymed lol). I don't know what production the job is for, it's a TV company who do a whole range of shows, factual, entertainment and scripted so I'll need to think on my feet at the interview. There's also 2 different jobs I'm going in for, I have a feeling one of them I wont get based on I can't drive, but hopefully it wont need one! (usually runners need driving licenses!)

It's swings and roundabouts this game, it really is.
I was feeling a bit bleak this morning, but just got an interview for a job which isn't ridiculously far away (1.30hr drive) so if I got it, I wouldn't have to move. Whoot. And then, like buses, a job advert was posted today which is an hour's drive away. Finger's crossed...
Sharon67, a good friend of mine works in TV/Film. She started of as a runner too. I have lots of admiration for her (and you and everyone who works in that industry), she gets lots of work, but I'm not sure how I could cope with the uncertainty of where the next job is coming from. Luckily, she's quite well established now and has a good network, but I know it's tough at the start.0 -
I started working in TV last February and this is the longest I've been unemployed! I've had 6 different jobs since then! Some of them were a few weeks, the shortest was 11 days (in which I worked 11 days straight finishing on Christmas Day). I know that when I get up the ladder the pay will be good enough so I don't have to work every single week to get a decent wage. Including benefits (JSA and HB) I'm going to get at least 12k this year after tax, so it's better than when I worked at the cinema!0

Wow, you lot have been busy today. I feel guilty now having been out for lunch and not done any job hunting yet.
Time to start I suppose, hope there is plenty out there for me today.
Good luck to everybody who have got interviews coming up and here's hoping for all those waiting for news.0 -
I need to rant so please bare with me.
Why are such a large huge amount of companies just so rubbish at letting people know the outcome of interviews. It's a week tomorrow since my interview, and I have still heard nothing. This morning I actually sat at the window waiting for the postman hoping there would be a letter there that would put me out of my misery, but no. Surely these people know how desperate we all are, are they just been cruel on purpose? It really would not take them long to send an email, or make a quick telephone call. I just want to know either way so I can move on. I have now had 5 interviews. 3 never got back to me at all, and that was despite me sending polite emails chasing them up, 1 eventually got back to me, a week after they said they would (they said they had already put a letter in the post, but I never did receive it, hmm!) and now this one is driving me mad!
Rant over.0 -
Oh I can totally sympathise with that lexilex! I still have not heard from one interview I had 2 weeks ago, despite repeated chasing of the agency I know now that it will be definitely be a no but some feedback would be appreciated so I can at least have something to work on. My interview from last week I was told I would hear on Friday but despite leaving messages and sending an email to the agency that I dealt with to get the interview I still have not heard anything! Although again I am sure that if was positive news the agency would be chasing me so unfortunately that looks like another no as well.
I am having a really rubbish day, rejections in email this morning and have found no new jos to apply for. I can't even find any temporary work just to keep some money coming in and am just totally fed up about not being able to get on with my life because I am not working! Again sorry for the rant but it felt better to get it off my chest.0 -

Received thanks Drea! It's actually really similar to mine, only I have less work experience. I am clearly just rubbish :rotfl:
Job centre stupid 13 week meeting or whatever it is today. Dreading it! I have loads of rejections printed off ready to show them I aren't a lazy scrounger, and the questionnaire filled in.
Last night as I was going to sleep I was honestly thinking about how much I didn't want to wake up this morning. Another day of absolutely nothing, sitting around, refreshing websites, filling in application forms, constantly waiting for my phone to ring, for the postman to come or for an email to arrive.
AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! I feel like I am going mad.
I wish somebody would press the play button on my life.0
