This doesn't surprise me in the slightest, I went for an interview recently and was 10/15 minutes early, and was sat outside the room, seen the girl before me go in and was out in about 7 minutes, could hear everything they were saying to her, yes you'l hear today, we want someone to start right away. I was in the room at least 20 minutes, because it was all long winded questions and then told, yeah you'l hear next week. I know that my interview went fine, so it's clear they had someone earmarked for the job
It's bad that they have to advertise really in those situations, would save everyone an awful lot of timeSaved: £1566.53/ £20000 -

I was thankful in that situation I'd heard them, because if I hadn't I would have felt awful because I really felt the interview went great, wasn't until the end and they said oh you'l hear next week. To make matters worse it was hundreds of miles away from where I lived and they'd known that, so why even invite me to the interviewThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Well nothing much new to report, my job search consists of about 3 jobs to apply for a week, the joys of living in a little village near to a little town with absolute rubbish for public transport. I go onto a work scheme in a few weeks, not too happy about that but it might not be as bad as it is made out to be lol. I feel totally unemployable, like I wasted my time and money going to Uni as my degree might as well be written on a chinese takeaway menu but somehow I really don't seem to care anymore lol am sure a job will come along eventually at least I got my voluntary work, so no huge job gap and it's fantastic experience, new skills etc etc.0

At least you're keeping your spirits up, that's half the battleThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Yeah I haven't had an interview in months and there hasn't been any jobs that have come up that have blown me away that I really wanted so it's not too bad. I pretty much apply for anything with enough hours 15+ and that I can get to with public transport etc I think the best way is not to care too much otherwise you feel the blows with every rejection etc. Hopefully something is on the horizon, I really want a job at my voluntary work but there isn't one boooo.0

Ive seen a job advertised but the email addresss i got from call job seekers direct is a @live.co.uk, im a little concerned because surely the firm would have they're own email address to use eg recruitment@companyname.co.uk. The ad sounds like its for somewhere like hss tool hire or similar type of place.0

No phone call
The procrastination of employers these days is ridiculous, don't tell me you'll make a decision Monday at the latest and then not actually bother to, it's so frustrating and depressing to be sat in limbo.0 -

Totally agree, not good on the ego to be sat in limbo0 -
Hello everyone,
It was my first day at work today and I really enjoyed it - didn't do much apart from sit at a PC with my new boss and learn how to use the database but it was just great to be out at work.
I got into town too early this morning so I got a coffee, sat in City Square in the sunshine and watched the world go by for 20 minutes which was lovely, I really felt back in the land of the employed even though I hadn't even got to work yet!
Anyway, it's the most un-call-centre-like call centre I have ever seen if that makes sense! It is public sector though.
I got my free travel pass too, happy with that!!
Hope everyone has a good week and there is good news on the job front! There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.....0 -
