But then I got home and I had a letter regarding the interview I went to last week to say I was unsuccessful which has bought me back down to a bump. Although it was the most unorganised interview ever I really thought I was in with a good chance (got through to the last three).
I feel like I've been punished for enjoying myself for a day.
The bike ride would have been good for you and you deserved a treat before your disappointment. Sorry to hear you were unsuccessful but if they were unorganised on their interview, how competant would they be to choose the right candidate?0 -
I HAVE A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I start a week on Monday and they don't care about my holiday so I can have the time off. NMW for a lot of work but who cares? It's a job!
Congratulations!!
So pleased for you. At least you can enjoy your holiday now knowing you have a job to come back to.
(is it really bad that I am so jealous of you)

Not at all, I was getting jealous of everyone else finding somethingshh don't tell.
I still can't quite believe it, I'm STILL trying not to get my hopes up waiting to be told that they don't want me after all. We shall see.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Congratulations to everyone who's got a job!
I'm pleased as I've just had an email inviting me to an ASDA Magic assessment and interview session, next Saturday.
Hope you all get out in some of this gorgeous sun today :-):heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls
I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

Back from my interview, it went quite well I think (but I've thought that before so not getting my hopes up). They said that they would hopefully be making a decision today so at least I won't have too long to wait.0

I've been doing research for various interviews today and my head's starting to get a bit frazzled!
Got a phone interview this afternoon, got interviews on Monday and Tuesday, and just got an e-mail about another one on Friday. So it's all go at the moment for me! Next week will be very busy, but all three are jobs at places I actually want to work, so I'm feeling very pleased about it, but it will be a stressful week for me!
Good luck to everyone else who's had interviews this week/ coming up next week0 -

What sort of positions require a phone interview? I've never had one, and never heard of one every being suggested.0 -

It's for a p/t receptionist position, does seem a bit unusual, as presumably if I am successful I will have to attend a face-to-face interview. Also, the lady who is doing my interview is the same one who arranged it, so it was a bit strange to receive a phone call just to arrange another one with the same person.
Phone interviews are more common with graduate positions, where they have quite a thorough recruitment process. I did a few just after I graduated, and it's quite nice to be able to sit in your pjs whilst being interviewedIt's also useful as you can have all your notes in front of you, including the person specification, ticking off the criteria as soon as you feel you've met it!

The sort of jobs I go for require preliminary phone interviews. They are common in my industry (IT). I like the fact that I can write down a crib sheet of what I want to say and what questions I need to ask, without the interviewer knowing
Really suprised though that employers haven't woke up to the jobs of Skype (thankfully!),0
