Got my interview today, it's not until 4 though so that means that I have to sit around all day waiting! Really hope that this goes well because my daughter has school trips and things coming up and if I'm not working then it's going to be a struggle
Hope we all have a good day today!0 -
Hey everyone.
I'm new...I started job hunting a few weeks ago. I'm disabled, but I can't afford to live at the moment...I'm going to be homeless soon, I think. So finding a job is priority at the moment!
Livermum, I hope your interview goes well0 -
I feel as completely hopeless as ever - applied for about 6/7 jobs in the past week and have heard nothing back from any of them. The problem with an abyss is that it never fills up!
I just wish I knew what was wrong with me? why doesn't anybody want anything to do with me and why am I such a complete failure?
yes i know what you mean, applied in excess of 10 jobs since made redundant and all i hear is "other candidates were a better match" or "other candidates were more suitable" which is weird as im more suited/better match, i put it down to graduates being out of work which is annoying as they ought to be in higher paying jobs since thats what they went to uni for and leave the nmw jobs for us non uni folk0 -
When applying for jobs that say temporary do you think (if i get to interview stage) its a reasonable question to ask what the min hours a week would be since im claiming jsa, i expect they might be used that question
Also if i have been asked to address a letter to HR who should i address it to, would to whom it may concern be ok0 -

If I don't know the person's name, I always address the letter 'Dear Sir' and sign it off with 'Yours sincerely'.
That's how it used to be anyway, letter writing etiquette might have changed over the years though. There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.....0 -

Wouldn't Dear Sir or Madam be more appropriate?0 -

Just back from my interview this morning. Horrible walk for half an hour along a busy road full of industrial estates and huge lorries! The actual interview was pointless, the guy had no idea what he wanted to ask or know. He even said "we don't know what we want from someone". He asked what salary I've been looking for and when I told him he said "Well we pay what we think we should, not what you ask for". So why ask me! Although I think he has forgotten they listed the salary on the advert for the job
On my way home I got a call for another interview on Tues, that one will only be a 15 min walk, very low pay though.
I'm getting interview after interview but no further. I'm just getting bored with them now which probably shows, need to step it up.
Last day of my temp work today so I'm hoping for some good news, oh please give me good news!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Oh if I don't know their name I put Dear Sir/Madam. If I do but haven't had correspondence from them before it's Mr or Ms. If I have had an email/phone call/etc with them then I use the first name.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0
