    good day to all....

been really lazy this last week - which is not so good however after putting off looking in the free paper that was delivered at around 12 there was in fact 3 jobs!!!!!!!

i realise that that isn't too much to be excited about but 2 of them would be great - ASOS warehouse work - good pay and if i can get night shifts there's an extra 20% in it, and one admin that i am completely qualified for....

the other would like graphics knowledge - for which i know they exist may not be quite enough - but i'll try!!!!!!

apart from that nothing new. there is a complete lack of jobs advertised on line that weren't there last week.....

Oh and i got a rejection from the council - which is surprising as i had all the essentials and desirables and they pay my rent!!!!!!!! i could have saved them some money right there!!!!!! they've missed a trick.

I told the man at the job centre that I didn't want the work experience placement as I am already doing admin work experience/voluntary work that was much better than what they were offering, he didn't sound impressed but it's true. I'm not going to give up the voluntary work it took 5 months to get for a few weeks at a office in the middle of nowhere which could might have a job I couldn't even get to at the end ...

arcgh - i had a missed call - for which i had got all excited thinking it may have been about a job and it was about a course that they cancelled in March so i have one day out of the house in September to look forward to YAY!!!!!!!!

actually not so yay it's £10 and when i had a job that was nothing but that added to buses or taxis there and back and it's going to be a no unless i get a job before then.....

how sad is that? £10 for education is too much.

well i'm off to whip up some pancakes as i am depressed and am too skint to spend money on chocolate.

Afternoon all. I'm having to go to the JC every week because I fall in the 18-24 year old bracket and apparently that group need more help with job searching. I get no help from the JC whatsoever! I've been signing on every 2 weeks for about a month and now I have to go in every week. Is this just to get young people off benefits?

I'm 24 and have never had to sign on weekly?

Feeling a bit rubbish today, the carpet between the hall and bathroom is soaked and the bathroom smells of damp so there is obviously some sort of flood going on in the pipes. I can't even be bothered dealing with it today, I just want to move house but of course, that costs money.

I'll consider thinking about it tomorrow and will walk over it for now ;)

    Interview critique:

Outfit: Lilac jeans and red and white smart shirt - felt comfortable and it hit the spot: win
Prep: Awesome and it showed: win
Chat: comfortable and relaxed - for the first time I did not leverage everything I could do into the time frame: personal win
Test: Had enough time to redo the numeracy test and correct mistakes
Fail point: Did not attend myself enough to the fact that this was maternity cover, while I scaled back what I usually do, ambition and changes showed through

Outcome: I think I have failed this on the contract nature of the role, I wanted the person I was covering to feel very comfortable to come back to her job, left in a really good state, polished, I just did not address it.

    Gah!
  • I have jumped on the volunteering bandwagon and sent off an application for volunteering with the probation service. I've applied for a few reception jobs with them and it's something I'd love to get involved with so hopefully I'll at least get an interview.

I've sort of given myself the week of from jobhunting, having been offered a job, even though I don't have a start date yet. I applied for three jobs with the probation service on Monday, so I feel satisfied that I've at least done something this week.

I'm going to a hen party at the weekend so decided this week I would focus more on exercising so I know I can eat (and drink) what I want at the weekend :) Been trying to get in good shape for the wedding next month (I'm a bridesmaid). That's the one good thing about not working is that it's given me time to exercise a lot more than usual.

Gosh, Nessi, I really don't know what to say. My adviser asked the guy who deals with travel to write me a rail warrant. I wasn't asked about savings, only to confirm the employer wouldn't pay travel. It sounds like you've been treated completely differently- it's just not fair. :(

Well I'm officially not a student anymore, had my last exam yesterday whoop! :) ....

I've bounced back from my rejection the other day. Two more interview invites (and a load more of rejections but never mind - ignoring them!), one clashed with another interview but was a easy choice, supervisor (great hours and my same department I'm already working in eeeeek!) in my own city tops nursing assistant job in taunton, simple. However the other one again clashes with another interview... but this is not an easy choice... permanent supervisor (in a field I have recent experience in) job in stroud which had driving licence listed as essential (I don't have one) and with terrible hours (3-9pm) vs fixed term (9 mths) interesting administrator/lab assistant job in whitchurch in cardiff (within normal office hours)... Both band 3 (yes NHS again) and same travel time from Bristol. I think I'm going to hold still until Friday before I make my final decision. Though at the moment I could see administrator/lab assistant in cardiff one winning...

P.s. Apologies for my crazy usage of brackets... I think I went bracket mad.
