I got a call today for an interview tomorrow afternoon. It's a temporary admin job. The pay isn't much more than minimum wage. It's also a trek from where I live, either 2 hours by 2 busses or an hour and a half going by bus and two trains. It doesn't sound ideal but it is only temporary and I'm getting rather desperate.Debt: Started at £4780, now at £4190
Comp Wins 2014: None yet0 -
I just cannot be bothered! Sent a couple of "thanks for interviewing me" emails but I think I'm getting to the stage of it getting to me now.

Hi all,
Hope you're all having a reasonable day of job hunting.
I've just had a phone call from the agency about yesterdays interview, I didn't get the job I interviewed for as I was too "over qualified". The interviewer did like me and my attitude. He apparantly does want me to work for the company and thinks that there might be an opening in another location fairly soon that I would be more suitable for.
I don't know whether to feel up or down really. It's good that i've created such a good impression and that he says he wants me to work for them but I just wonder how long it's going to be before an offer comes through. It does seem to be a good comapny and I would really like to work for them but if something else comes up i'm going to have to seriously consider it instead of waiting.
I suppose i'll just carry on as before.
Anyway, I hope somebody here has some good news today.

It is difficult to stay positive I know.
What do other people do with their unwanted spare time? We can't spend the whole time job hunting and it's awful just sitting around the house waiting for the phone to ring.
I joined the gym for the first ever time and spend at least 3 mornings a week in there which makes me feel a bit more self confidence in my appearance for interviews and it takes up some more of the day. Having said that I haven't been yet this week with preparing for the interview, will probably go in the morning now.0 -
Sorry to hear that Stew, hopefully they get back to you soon with something though!
Not sure if people have heard of this site before (I hadn't) but I've found quite a few jobs I never knew about before so it might be helpful http://joodis.net/.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

To be honest I spend all day looking for jobs or when I run out of jobs to apply for I spend it feeling guilty for not doing something more proactive. I have someone relying on my finding a job so feeling quite guilty that I haven't found one yet.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
It is the waiting that is the worst. You just know that as soon as you start a messy job like washing-up, or putting-out the recycling, the phone will go and you have to drop everything to get to it before the answerphone kicks-in.
I'm sitting here waiting for a couple of call-backs, whilst I'm doing this, I'm not able to go and start working on my van's cab heater to see which parts I need to replace to get it fully working again.Never Knowingly Understood.

Given up this week. I have my employment tribunal on Monday and this is a very big hurdle, job hunting will be easier when it is over!0

Sigh. Today's the day of inappropriate jobs. I applied for two positions, found out today they're contract (so would need an umbrella company), at a relatively low wage and a two hour commute from home, minimum.
Then I received a call for someone looking for a developer (I'm not one), and a call for a great job but in Frankfurt, Germany.
Sigh.
Something appropriate will come through. I hope. :wall:0 -
I find it strange we all seem to have the same rubbish days :rotfl:Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0
