Interview yesterday didn't go very well - so not expecting much.

For whatever reason I just fall apart in interview situations...turn into a quivering wreck.

    Good morning...

Has anyone got interviews today? I can't remember seeing any mentioned? Good luck if you have though.

I'm still struggling to get excited about this interview tomorrow. The job advertised experience essential so I can't help but feel I am just their to make up the numbers and it is a complete waste of time and petrol.

I'm managing to apply for around 3 jobs a day at the minute, but very few of them are jobs I want to do, jobs I went to uni for. The majority are just admin jobs that would be great until I found something better.

Better get on and attempt some interview prep.
  • Hi all

I have an interview for an unpaid thing today... Given that I've never had a paid job, I think I'll probably take it if they offer it to me (they should do! They're getting me for free - I am massively overqualified but just lack practical experience). Only thing is, do I really want to commit myself for 12 weeks full-time??? Does anyone know where I stand if I take this role (unpaid - just expenses) and then while I'm there I get paid employment? Would I be able to pack it in? :S
  • i have an interview friday at long last so hope i smash it...... good luck everyone with job search/interviews

    Morning,

Lexi - keep thinking that they must think you would be able to do the job because they've invited you for an interview. Experience is valuable, but it's not everything. They must have seen something in your application that they must have thought 'ok, she has no experience, but all the other things are great! On balance, you have skills they want. Keep positive. If worst comes to worst, at least it's more interview experience under your belt.

just to add, to another post, do forum members feel that a congratulations would be in order to someone that gets a job as a self employed arrears collector.I feel that getting any job these day is worth an applause. some folk would say id rather be unemployed than do that.or is that too high a stance.I remember once at the job centre and i heard someone saying they were signing off as they got a job in say mcdonalds pt time, the job centre guy said well done and i felt he was genuine.
years ago i wouldnt have said say well done to such a low thought of job, but attitudes have changed in 2011, are undesirable jobs worth chasing after, but they pay the bills and do they really deserve a well done for beating the other applicants, hope it goes well for you.
Christians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

  • ^I think that to get any job nowadays is applaudable... yes they might not be cosy or well-respected jobs, but I respect anyone who takes those jobs.

I have an interview later, been feeling a bit ill the past couple days so not on form but fingers crossed all the same. It's being held at the job centre, I hate that place :rotfl:

stu: For some people those jobs are just what they are looking for, and well done to them I say. My interview today is for NMW pay, which won't even cover my bills but it's better than the nothing I have just now.
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.
