    Hey everyone,

Had a good day in school again, feel shattered now though, I forget just how hard work it is.

I've seen a total of 0 jobs to apply for today. There's only about 8 new ones around since yesterday.

Welcome to the few newbies I've seen posting today. I would say it's good to see you on here but it's not really a good reason for us all to be meeting is it.

Glad some of you have found jobs you can apply for, lets hope things pick up everywhere very soon. And I love the CV idea. :D

    Hi all,

Regarding the cv sharing. I'll have a play with my website this evening and see about setting up a page we could use. I'll have to get permission from the minister but i'm sure that won't be a problem as she's been really supportive with my job hunting. I do think putting it behind a password protected page is going to have to be the way forward as it'll protect our details better. It would be good for us to be able to share/steal each others ideas for our cv's. Watch this space and i'll see what I can set up.

I've sent applications our for four jobs today, don't get excited, three of the applications were for the same job advertised by the employer and two agencies so I applied for it three times!

Looby, sorry to hear about the job being taken away from you like that. I think that would be my worst nightmare.

If anybody wants to hear some good news, though it's non job related. I can fit into a pair of jeans now that I couldn't five weeks ago so this gym lark is obviously doing some good, just hope I can afford to continue it!

    Catch you all later.

11 recruitment agencies have me on file
HUNDREDS of job applications and phone calls
    5 temp roles
    8 job interviews

Today I'm absolutely delighted to confirm I have been offered a full-time permenant position! I GOT THE JOB!!!:j

Oh my days! Yesterday, I was absolutely convinced I gave the worst interview and I had severely messed up the opportunity, I had a good cry over it, I was such a mess and called it and had an early night. I woke up this morning feeling so low and waited to hear back from the recruitment agency to advise I didn't get the role.

I received a phone call while I was on my lunchbreak in a queue in Boot IMA, I got the phone call. The recruitment agent said, I hope you're sitting down... my first thought was uh oh... :( so I just said, tell the bad news.... the agent went on to say, I recieved excellent feedback from xxxxxx, they thought you gave a wonderful interview yesterday.... out off all the candidates they interviewed you were number one from the very start, the would like to offer you the position! the first thing I said was are you serious!?!? you're kidding right???? :rotfl:

I honestly couldn't contain myself whilst in the queue, I actually wanted to hug the person closest too me! :rotfl:

So, after much squealing and jumping about I composed myself to say I was over the moon and would be delighted to accept the position.

I've already been forwarded a copy of the contract by HR via email, it's been confirmed I will receive hard copies to sign in the post, I'm going to confirm my acceptance to night so will do the email shortly. I've been told they want me to start ASAP so I have to sort out ending my position in my current temp role, a weeks notice will suffice, but in order to assist with the handover I will work up until next Friday. I also need to sort out references.

Goodness... I'm just so freaking happy right now, I can't explain it. I was so close to moving out my flat because I could no longer afford it and I've been looking for a second job. I'm so relieved. I feel like I'm going to cry all over again!

Thanks for sharing your fantastic news, Vince! :j Gives hope to the rest of us.

So sorry to hear the job offer was withdrawn, Looby. :( You should take heart from the fact you made it through the application process right to the end - that takes some doing, but if you've done it once, you can do it again. And next time the job will be even better.

Looking for jobs to apply for at the moment - discounting all the agency leads I have given up on, I still have one interview scheduled and one application sent in. Not a lot to pin all my hopes and dreams on - am currently looking for something else to apply for.

In my line of work though, most vacancies go through agencies. Some firms specifically appoint a recruitment agency to sort out everything - they don't keep it inhouse. I can't really avoid them!
