Awful isn't it
I don't dare even look at my bank balance any more.
Morning everyone.
Today is going to be great. There are going to be loads of jobs to apply for and we will all hear something positive.
PMA.
I didn't want to look but need to take wellies to school as they have a forest day each week and I don't own any. Luckily my Mom has offered to help me out and has given me some money to buy some which is lovely of her.
I really hope your right about that!Saved: £1566.53/ £20000 -

Sent away an application for a part time clerical job with the NHS yesterday, fingers crossed I hear something from that. And of course the dreaded interview is tomorrow. For some reason I feel like I am going to my execution. :rotfl:
Job day in the paper is tomorrow fingers crossed there is something in it to apply for.
Im also hoping I hear something back from the heritage centre I volunteered to work with. They requested references and the references were sent in, but they haven't got back to me yet. I know the references were excellent ones so I don't know what the hold up is.
Just don't start feeling nervous, you don't want nerves getting in the way.
Job day in the paper here too tomorrow, I remember the days not so long back when there used to be loads of pages and the paper was really thick. I'm lucky if they fill 3 pages these days and even luckier if I can apply for anything.
Have you chased them up? It seems to have been a while since you sent the references in. Maybe worth a call if you haven't already and just check what's happeningSaved: £1566.53/ £20000 -

Yeah I was gonna leave it til the end of this week then chase them up about it.
I know the job page here is awful at the moment. Lucky if there are 3 jobs on it.'If honour were profitable, every man would be honourable' Thomas More

Right, interview with the international corporate this afternoon. Impossible to do the usual company study, there is too much and it is not clear which precise division I will be in.
I simplified the job description from four pages to one - there were a few duplications of requirements and skills that I don't need to worry about focusing on. I would say this is well worth doing for OTT job descriptions particularly if buzz words are used, the job description writer is often not sure themselves what they mean. I received a nine page job description recently, wouldn't want to work for a company that talks that much waffle, it would drive me mad!
I really don't want to mess this up, not so much in terms of getting the job, but this would be my first opportunity to give a good account of myself at a major corporate. I am a bit of a punk at heart!0 -

Good luck with the interview this afternoon. I'll send some positive thoughts your way.0 -
Its jobs day here today as well so fingers crossed there will be something. All the interviews I have had so far have been from adverts in the local paper rather than the internet so I'm wondering if that might mean that less people look in the paper. I also remember the good old days when the job vacancies used to be a supplement in the middle of the paper and was usually around 8-10 pages long. Now its a good week if there are 3 pages, usually its 2.
I also had a sleepless night last night and feel really awful now. I just hope I get something before I go completely doolally!!!
Anyway onwards and upwards!0 -
Found one job I can apply for that was on last week and I was unsure whether to apply or not, but decided I should. It's part time in a jewellers. They have three posts available to work over 3 days but the hours are very few. I therefore wonder if most of what I was to earn would actually end up going on car parking, but we'll see as no hourly rate was mentioned and they have immediate starts available so popping in to ask about it this afternoon
EDIT: Also amended my covering letter and am not mentioning that I am restarting my degree, just clarifying that I'm no longer studying as I don't want people to see i'm restarting in case it goes against me, even though I can still work around study. Thought this may be a good moveSaved: £1566.53/ £20000 -
Hello all,
After almost 5 years of continuous service I will be unemployed as of the 1st of April due to redundancy (Our entire company has gone.) I have been on 'gardening leave' since the beginning of March and am starting to tear my hair out, out of boredom and frustration!!
I've applied for quite a lot of jobs over the months since I was notified I was being made redundant, and currently have 12+ applications out.
I've had 3 interviews, 2 which were a few months back, with no bad feedback, they just chose the other candidatesThe last interview was on Monday this week and was the interview from hell, and it now appears that the agency it was applied for through is ignoring my e-mails. (The story behind this is that I applied for an entirely different role, and they said they thought I'd get bored with it, and had another role they thought I'd like, which then became another role!!)
Is anyone else having problems with applying for jobs and having the agency turn you down because they think you'd be bored with the role? Nothing annoys me more, as I wouldn't just apply for a job for the sake of it, and surely being at work has got to be less boring than sitting at home doing nothing!!
So yes, pleased to meet you all, I expect I shall be around a lot!:rotfl:0
