Its typical isn't it. I must have checked all my job websites three times today and there was nothing. I've just had one last look and have found one job to apply for so that's my evening down the drain.
I decided some time ago not to have anything to do with job hunting during the evenings and weekends as that's my 'me' time!
Well I hope its a good week for everyone.0 -

Oh dear, he wasn't impressed with the company. He didn't like the manager (whose job he applied for only a few months ago), the HR woman talked over him when he was trying to answer questions, the only person he did like was the person who desperately needs somebody to come and take some work off their shoulders.
Shambolic was the word he used to describe the interview..........
Oh and the salary was £8K less than his last job and they said they only wanted to pay this to 'exceptional' candidates. I told him I'd have walked out at that point.
Some interviewers seem to forget that they are representing their company and maybe, really need to impress the interviewee. To sit out that type of interview shows curtesy and their actions just makes you want to reject them. It's no good working at an office that is going to make you unhappy or even ill.
I once went for an interview where the interviewer would not let me finish my answers and did not impress at all. The personnel officer was obviously embarrassed and said that they would let me know within 6 weeks - that was almost two years ago, I never followed it up. Guess why.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well I dreamt I was offered a job last night......touring medieval villages during jousts and tournaments helping sick falcons and hawks. :T Awesome.
Then I woke up back in the real world, jobless.
More swotting to do for this interview. I know for a fact its gonna be a panel (urgh) and I will probably be asked scenario type questions which I loathe. I ususally have to make them up on the spot.
Thing is for all the swotting I am doing, as soon as I take my notes away and try to pretend I am answering the questions, my mind goes blank
Question: Is it acceptable to take a leather presenter folder into an interview with a copy of your cv inside and the job description to refer to ? Because I have a memory like a sieve, especially when there are questions being fired at me by 4 or 5 people.'If honour were profitable, every man would be honourable' Thomas More

Why why why are all the admin jobs I see only temporary
I can't go down the temp route because I am a lone parent and it seems like too much hassle with the signing on and off IS. If it was just me I would do it, but with having my wee boy, I can't take the risk of my payments being mucked up or not going in on time which I think could be likely if I am signing on and off.
Where are all the permanent admin jobs!? Why are they like hens teeth?'If honour were profitable, every man would be honourable' Thomas More

This is very variable, there is no harm in taking along your CV and any other notes and asking if you can refer to them as in "I have a long CV history and need to refer back for the details of dates, locations etc". This can work against you and it can work for you as in "that interviewee came prepared".
Panel interviews are sometimes designed to fluster to see how you handle the pressure. Take command of the interview by controlling the sometimes conflicting demands by saying such things as "can I complete my answer to that question before I move on to yours" or if applicable "can I combine your question with my answer to his?"
Deep breath, stay calm, stay controlled and you will get through it and impress.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For me this is essential, I also take any company research, all my swatting notes and case studies, plus cheat sheets for any acronyms, technical or buzz terms that might come up (you can't remember them all). I impressed once by taking the bosses CV with photo on it I got from linked in, as he was interviewing. I still don't think I am doing enough. I also enjoy doing the work, it reminds me that I have not turned to mush.
I end up not referring to them but it is a hell of a security blanket.
I used to prefer winging it, but things are harder now.

I often take in a sheet of paper with a list of questions i want to ask myself. I think this shows i have thought about the role, and have genuine interest, and it gives me the extra aid of writing a few prompt lines on the page if i need to discretely refer to it at any stage0
