the world BBC programs to be funded by advertising but just not the UK as they have a licence to shaft the population.
Er, maybe I am wrong, but I think the BBC sells its programs worldwide, and makes a tidy profit on them. So subsidizing the license fee.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

The B@$T@RD$, so it's OK for the rest of the world BBC programs to be funded by advertising but just not the UK as they have a licence to shaft the population.
Question, if the BBC was not a taxwhat programs would survive because of revenue?
I will start
1) Top Gear
2) Eastenders
3) Strictly (pains me to say)
4) Match of the Day
5) David Attenborough's wildlife programs
OK I am struggling now.
The Aussies love Shameless, is that BBC? I think they think it's a sort of documentary. They'd pay to watch that.
Then there's the ITV model: stick on loads of tat and bung in adverts in between. Or the Sky model: buy up all the sport and make people buy everything else to be able to watch the soccer.0 -

They sell a lot of programs over here and to the mainstream, free-to-air channels too.
I don't think they make huge sums on them apart from the odd exception (eg Top Gear).0 -

They licence it (sell) but then you would have to say thouse that buy it make a profit on showing it?
It subsidises the BBC making different things not the licence. The licence is not something that the BBC can set at any cost.
The point is, why are they happy to receive revenue on programs overseas but not in the UK? perhaps they only sell what is successful and the UK audience picks up the Tab for everything that is not.
I was just interest how different the BBC would look if it relied on advertising.0 -

Ruled by the unions who choose to censor and spin what they like in order to feed the public anti government stories, to the point where they were going to boycott broadcasting the PM's party conference speech (very impartial eh?).
A quick look on the website this morning reveals the TOP WORLD NEWS STORY above CNN's focus on the world flood chaos, and Sky New's breaking story about the evacuation of UK citizens from Tunisia is... Labour win by-election in Oldham by 3500 votes.
This in itself would be enough to convince anyone, however take a look here. Tories also had a by-election victory which has gone completely unreported... sickening leftie propaganda.
Eh...no it wouldn't0 -

I hope not - don't watch any of them.0 -
I've got the BBC front page in another tab at the moment. In the news section these are the top 5 stories:
- Tunis protests
- Something about the Italian PM and a teenage dancer
- Ripper (Yorkshire?) losing an appeal
- Vatican beatify John Paul II (sounds painful)
- "Lucky" escape before 7 July blast
Bunch of commies.0 -
