Possible repercussions of leaving negative but honest feedback?

  • You only have 30 days to initiate a chargeback with Paypal. I have to say that the sellers attitude is totally appalling. This is why it is soooo important to check feedback before bidding. I use 2 free programmes to help with with checking out potential sellers/buyers and they have proven to be worth their weight in gold.

Gutcheck filters out the neutral and negative feedback. Saves having to plough through tons of feedback.

    Also get this:

Dead simple to use. Just enter the eBay user id and get all the information about that user's eBay activities.

    Good luck.

The guys a bully - give him neg feedback to save someone else this hassle. If you have a good history 1 neg feedback isn't going to hurt you.

Item arrived this morning and is really nice! (Antique ring wrapped in a bit of looroll!).

Just don't know what to do now re feedback. I'm very pleased with the item but still feel aggrieved at all the unecessary unpleasantness that accompanied this transaction and feel would like to warn other people what they might be in for with this character as he really upset me.

Obviously if I leave any negative feedback he will retalliate in kind. I'm not likely to be selling on ebay, (at the moment anyway), so I guess it wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Thanks Bargainbabe for the info on gutcheck and BayCheck. Couldn't get gutcheck to work, (got the sellers name up but then it just seemed to hang) but the other one works just fine.

Alexie I am so glad you got the item as issues such as feedback is small fish as long as you got your item! I would personally leave feedback for the moment! do the reminder for 90 days - as other people suggested then give him a negative stating how rude he was to you etc! I think this way you are doing the right thing by letting people know that he is not a nice person and covering yourself! probably people won't agree with me on here but everyone is entitled to their own opinion

sod it, go give him neg feedback if he deserves it..... whats the worst he can do? give you some back....

alternatively, wiat until 90 days is up and give feedback at the last minute, then he won't have time to give u some back!

He thoroughly deserves a negative feedback. As a seller he relies upon feedback as it will put off potential bidders. If you are an honest buyer, one idiot like this will not affect things.

The more people who see your feedback will realise he is not the sort of person to do business with.

All in all, anyone with more than one or two negs is usually dodgy and worth avoiding - 16 is out and out bad news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I have to admit I wouldn't chase anything up until a week after the end of the auction.
