You'll need to quote that again when the beans are ready. :p
Nah. That will be:- OH, I beat you by a foot.:p

I'm worried about you two having a mine-is-bigger-than-yours competition.

Don't worry about it. I'm on a winner anyway. If I win I've beat him and if I lose I'll claim a moral victory because I supplied his bean seeds....lol

I'll be well impressed if you manage to grow a 4' bean. :rotfl:

Beautiful day here. Managed to get up early enough to open the greenhouses prior to setting off for work.:o

Had an excellent bowls match last night.

Tonight will be a garden night. I've only been monitoring from the window for a few days, but I can tell some repotting is nearly due with some toms. I haven't had a close look at the beans & peas since the weekend. I also need to mow lawns and the like, as the rain is due to return wednesday/thursday subject to change...

Shed to be delivered tomorrow. Perhaps the weekend will be spent putting it up/taking the other one down. I'll wait for a real nice day for that one.

A pleasant afternoon spent at the Gardeners' World Show today. Blagged my way in - bought a couple of things I needed, and a few more I didn't. :o

Bloke on the Pennard Plants stall was very nice - only charged me a fiver for £7.50 worth of seeds. :money:

B&Q delivered the wrong shed. Despite promises of a call first thing in the morning, I'm still waiting for them to tell me when they're gonna sort it. I have called them, but no joy, other than vague-ness.

Ended up doing nothing last night - nothing needed watering, everything is pretty much ok. Noticed that some of the beans are really going for it (they're over the canes now) whereas others appear to be a bit slower.

The free spuds from the poatato peelings I dumped in the ground as compost are still going strong.

Pease are thinkening out a little (though again some of the plants haven't kicked on like I thought they would).

I have planted another batch of lettuce, and also some carrot seeds in some tubs (I came to the conclusion that they were growing, as I saw them, but then the sluggy scum were invading & eathing the babies! Onions aside, I will never plant anything straight out again. Everything will be started in tubs or pots).

    Shame about the shed. :(

I have to say I am an advocate of slug pellets. They save a lot of hassle.

How tall do these French beans get Lotus? They're still only small, but I need to think about some sort of frame for them.

Just pulled my 3rd bunch of carrots ready for dinner, Pulled 10, all around 5ins long, enough for the 2 of us. Then pulled the 1st half dozen beetroot, 10 mins in the microwave and they smell delicious. Could have some peas towards the end of next week.
