Motability issue

I have a motability vehicle for my son and have done over the mileage expected. I have had the vehicle two years and the engine has blown up estimate cost over £5,0000. The dealer is saying the warrenty is void due to high mileage. My son depends on this car he is unable to use any form of public transport, hence high mileage. He has severe and complex disabilities and getting out is essential .
Any thoughts how I can challenge this would be apprecaited

i dont have any direct advice but, for other readers of this thread i would say .
if you have a car on motability and incure very high milage use because of long distance use as a direct result of your disability.
is to speak to motorbility in advance as they might allow higher milage use or you may have to swap the car more often to keep them in warrenty
but dont know how you stand fo just going over without telling them0 -
What sort of mileage are you talking about and how was it incurred?0
-
Due to using daily and for accessing residential services . I live quite a distance from the school and placement and take him back home several times a week. Surely a two year old car should not blow up , I am a few thousand miles over.0

was it seviced and maitained as required at the correct millage ?0
-
Yes, serviced by dealer.0

how many miles has it done? did they give any reason why the engine went bang?
just because an engine has done a few thou more miles than motability contract says it should be used for. it still should not go bang espesialy when it has be seviced and maintained by the dealer.
what has motability said?0 -
That the warranty is void due to excess mileage.0
-
how many miles has it done0

As far as I know, if you exceed the 20'000 miles then it may null your warranty as it is excess use. Hence why you have to pay any extra miles over the 60'000 at the end of the three years.
Did you check the Motability wesite? it's quite informative. If you obey all the rules...you miss all the fun!! Katherine Hepburn0 -
Yes I have checked web site and would be happy to pay excess mileage charge but the cost of replacing an engine seems rather much as the car is only 2 years old.0
