Name labels for kids...

Options
Can anyone recommend a company that makes name labels to go into kid's clothes/shoes and other belongings please? I called the school and the (rather unpleasant) receptionist told me most parents write their childs name on their stuff!!

why dont you get a fabric pen (about £2) and write their name on the clothing label? Much cheaper x
  • Funny this should come up today, just this morning the postman delivered an order I made for sew-on name tapes from http://www.jjcash.co.uk/

They also do iron-on and stick-on labels.

I am very pleased with mine and would recommend.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Startrite do their own labels which stick to shoes but are horribly expensive. Second the fabric pen / iron on write your own labels
  • The school uniform shop in my town does them, not sure if all do though. My Mum just used them for cardigans/skirts and then wrote my names on everything else in fabric pen!
  • I have had iron on ones in the past, but can start to come away after time. I also have embroidered ones, which some have frayed a little. I'll stick with a pen in future I think.

  • Marks and Spencer do iron on ones which you need dynamite to shift, my DS2 is wearing uniform jumpers with his big brother's name on four years later!

If you use the embroidered labels, have them made up with just your surname. Then they can be used by all members of the family! (Not much help if you are an Evans or Smith though!)

You can get them on ebay printed with your child's name on I bought 15 labels for £1.20 which included postage you just iron them on. The pen ink tends to wash off after a while when you do it yourself.
  • i use iron on ones off ebay... they lasted a term so far and no signs of coming away. For shoes and plimsolls i use a sharpie fabric marker.

I have also used the ones from M&S and they are excellent, they don't drop off and the ink doesn't fade even when you have hot washed the white shirts for a year

You get loads in a pack I bought my DS labels and they must have lasted about 5 years before I had to reorder
