a fair few years ago I was fretting over this, as a lot of my mates were getting married and having babies etc, and a few of the young ladies that caught my eye, i always see with people blatantly wrong for them.. treating them badly, not showing up when they'd arranged to meet etc.. nothing violent or anything, but I always maintained, if i keep just being a nice guy, it'll happen.
It hasn't, but I never feel bad, cos im a pretty positive person (as much as i can be)
Also got linked to this (There's naughty words in it)

  • Thanks v much SnV!! Great to have the male insight :-)

    I live in hope ....
  • Esqualax, it helps to know that there are men in this situation too. (Not that I wish anyone to be, if you see what I mean.)

    Good luck to you :-)

    My "love" life is embarrassing

I would love a boyfriend and so will join this challenge - I belong to two sites and pledge to message or wink at a man every day.

Renovation Girl, it's good you met someone nice on a date :-) Locally to me there are various social groups. If you google 'meetups' it will give you a good idea of what's in your area. The one I go has activities like pub nights, quiz night, cinema evenings, bowling etc. It's good fun and a way of meeting new people doing ordinary actiivites :-) At least that is the theory! x

Thanks PA, I will look into that, sounds good!! *googles away.* Thanks SNV I love the cartoon, and the sentiment, is she saying what we women instinctively think I wonder? I am guilty of running after the bad ones, no more I tell you!! And esquilax thanks for the positive note too xx
Hey Buffy glad you are on board xx:T

  • I also need to find myself a man asap.
Ive sorta got a date for friday night - but he is an old school friend, who i never really thought of before as a boyfried material but after years and years of one failed relationship after another and finally a failed engagement i think i cant trust my normal pick of men, they are all idiots.

    Villiage Idiot perhaps :p

At risk of turning the DFW forum into a relationship advice board but..........

Why put yourself under the pressure of finding yourself a man asap or wondering whether this friend is boyfriend material?

Just go out and enjoy the evening for the evening itself rather than have an expectation or trepidation of whether it is going to lead to anything.

If nothing comes from it, you had a great evening and you don't get disappointed from a romantic point of view.

If something romantic does come from it then its a surprise and unexpected which is always the best way to go IMO!

  • Ha brilliant! Glad to hear other people planning same as me!So far in 2011 I have had one date - last night - Hoping I see him again but being a rules girl, am hoping he texts me...Although now wondering if I should be texting him according to the advice on here..... Argh!!!! GOOD LUCK LADIES!X

  • Hello Ronnies Mummy, please don't settle for less than hot potatoes (I think that's the expression?) meaning you are fabulous and its not you its them, if it works with your friend great if not, Mr Right must be around the corner. Hope, that is what we need, and oodles of it lol x

Aunt Sally Snv, a bit of pressure is not a bad thing, pressure makes the cork go pop:rotfl:i am so very bad:rotfl:,we are loving your advice btw xx

ellesbelles, I think don't text, rules are rules, we all have them for a reason. When a man texts you know hes into you, then you can concentrate on getting him to really like you instead of trying to go forward wondering if he does or not... does anyone think so? x
