I was able to use all the vouchers I handed over - for me personally it is luck of the draw as to which cashier serves me and as to how many vouchers they will take.

Went in yesterday with a bundle of coupons. Unfortunately my till operator was on the 10 or less so I looked at my list, picked out the most expensive items and went to her with 10 items. As I approached, she asked if I was using any of the Asda coupons I had used the week before, cos they would no longer be accepted. I apologised and asked if she had got into trouble but she said no, it had been fine but she had been told not to take any more. Anyway, cost of shopping was £14ish and I used £9ish coupons. As I was walking out I noticed that one item had been overcharged (by over 50p), so I went to CS and got an R&R for £3.09. Excellent day!
PS - I did not actively seek out this R&R - I had no idea I would be over charged....... but I was! :rolleyes:0 -
On Friday I went to a 10 items or less cashier, on a Tesco where the coupon policy is always a clear 5 coupons if you haven't bought the product (max £5). You can also use any amount if you have bought the right number of the product stated.
The cashier frowned and said said, 'oh the law is changing on coupons...'
'Oh dear, is it?' I asked, 'your store always scans 5 coupons, I have given you a handful there, can you scan 5 of them please? Oh and I have bought some Daz so can you also scan this 50p off Daz?'
So he started scanning, going on about coupon-law changing (there isn't any law about coupon-use that I know of, only store policy and manufacturers' agreements with the stores, but ho, hum...).
Before I knew it he said, 'you may as well have the Daz one back as you only have 9 pence to pay now'. He had scanned about 8 coupons against my £9 shop, and not done the one I'd actualy bought the item for! This was even though I had mentioned the store's 5 coupon rule.
I think he was so intent on telling me about coupon-law he didn't watch what he was doing!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

martinbuckley wrote:There is no harm in that Katskorner. I do likewise and have had quite a few R&Rs on genuine overcharges. It is those who come on here bragging about filling their shopping trolley full of steak, lamb, chicken etc that is mispriced by a penny purely to get R&R then promptly give (or sell) it to their friends, family etc that I am talking about.
I am not disputing the stats about how much they overcharge etc, however they managed to put a temporary block on online codes due to excessive use - why wouldn't they start banning the p*** takers from their stores and changing their R&R policy? - after all they've crushed most of the competition now!
I have to say I have NEVER claimed an R&R on a penny overcharge, wouldn't dare! I have never sold an item that I bought and got an R&R on, either.
And I have almost never bought overcharged meat or chicken, only twice when the price per kilo was a pound or more higher than on the shelf edge label (SEL) and I wanted the food anyway for my family. I DO however, memorise every SEL as I get my shopping (occasionally write the prices down) and then always check my receipt against it. I do this because I know Tesco till prices OFTEN don't match the price on the SEL.
What am I supposed to do, NOT buy something I need because I can see that the item is likely to end up overcharged? I have even pointed out a price difference between the shelf and the product before, to a lady filling up the shelf.
She said 'oh it will scan at the lower price on the till, otherwise you can kick someone!'
It didn't, I didn't, but I did get an R&R and told Customer Service that I had tried to raise the issue at the shelf and that was the response I got! She was stunned!
P.S. The proper place for discussion about R&R ethics is here:

I find the complete opposite - as Welshy said, it's entirely hit and missella2002 wrote:Do try again. Yesterday I spent £50 and they wouldn't accept one voucher. Today spent £8 and had a few accepted. Find they are always easier to use in the bigger Tescos.

Hi!
Can anyone beat over £89 off one shopping bill in one go?
We have kept all my extremly long shopping lists-wheere the coupons out number the purchased iteams!...
I used to also get money handed back (up to 20p/30p cash) when my coupons had covered the entire bill....hense the check out clerk handed me the cash back!
Tip; never use internet coupons ...it is false economy- Ink is so astronomically expensive-it does not work out on the whole as saving money etc,......with the exception being the face value would have to be at least worth £2.00
Cut every coupon out you see!.....
Regards

I had always wondered about how economical it was to be printing coupons. Especially those coupons that require you to print a whole page. I'd be interested to know how much it does cost to print a whole coloured page. Surely it can't be quite as expensive as you think?Nadia_Feldmeier wrote:Tip; never use internet coupons ...it is false economy- Ink is so astronomically expensive-it does not work out on the whole as saving money etc,......with the exception being the face value would have to be at least worth £2.00
