Morning - I have gotten out of the habit of meal planning, and it is something I really need to get back into. I also need to do a big grocery shop in the next couple of days so this will prompt me to plan a bit more I think.......:oSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hypno - Its easy to get out of the habit, I know!
Back from Tesco. Total spent £11.07, so grocery spend now up to £41.33. I also bought some 2nd class stamps.
Total left in purse £5.66 so now gone into sealed pot bringing total up to £53.13:)
Now purse is empty until Wednesday! I don't need anything until then so tomorrow will definitely be a NSD.
I have been looking into the 2nd Purse/bank thread and I am thinking this sounds like a good idea. I quite often run out of certain things and am sure this will help with running to the shops to buy x at a ridiculous price and save me money in the long run too.
Did notice tesco's have been putting up their prices again this morning. Creamfields milk used to be £1.10 for 6pts is now £1 for 4pts, this works out at nearly 7p increase per pint! Robbing b***ers. This will add over another £10 to my monthly bill!
Will be spending a bit of time today reading over the threads about the 2nd purse and see if I can make sense of it all. If I do decide to go ahead with it, I may choose to borrow a set amount from my sealed pot to start it up and then pay it back. I also need to get a good handle on what is a real 'bargain' before I start so I will be checking over my receipts from the last month and working out what is the lowest price paid for some of my frequently bought items, so that I know when a good price crops up I am ready to take advantage.:TNovember NSD's - 70 -
Morning:)
Up very early today! I guess my body didn't want any more sleep even if my brain did!
£5.60 into account today from paypal, duly sent over to my savings account which is my 'Extra Earning's' pot. Nice to see a credit amount instead of a zero!:D
Today will be a NSD as I have no money in purse at all! :rotfl:Number 3/16 for me today:)
Nothing else to report on the bank account today, I am afraid that will be very boring until later on in the month.
'Payday' tomorrow so it will be nice to have some money again. I have a list of everything that needs paying out this coming week and will be doling the money out to each item on my list as soon as I get my money. I will have some to transfer over to my virtual sealed pot this week, so it will be nice to get off the mark with that one.:T
EBay sales are doing ok so far, I have bids on all but one item now, they finish tonight, so I am hoping for a bidding war at the last minute:rotfl::D
My school uniform order arrived yesterday, so need to get the kids to try on their new trousers before I decide what is staying and what needs to be changed.
I spent quite a bit of time yesterday playing around with mysupermarket.com. I think I may do the same again today and input my shopping list and see if there are more savings to be made.
I have been trying to get my head around the 2nd purse system, I think I get it now and have decided that I will lose nothing by giving it a whirl for a couple of months and see how I go. I have budgeted £10 per week for the money that goes in and builds up the store. I think I will also 'borrow' some money from the sealed pot which will then be paid back at some point. I have started writing a list of all my non perishables that I use on a regular basis and the price I usually pay for them, so I will know at a glance if I am getting a bargain when something is on offer.
My washing machine is seriously on its last legs (I think I have been saying this forever!) I am going to be saving £1 per wash towards a new one. I do a wash, I put £1 in a jar, hopefully I can get a decent amount together before it completely dies on me.
DS1 has a paper round this morning so I need to wake him up soon. He thinks he did well in his exam yesterday, he has another one on friday, then he has finished GCSE Maths. He is only year 10 so I am very proud of him:D
Have a great Tuesday everyone!November NSD's - 70 -
I have just had confirmation and payment into my account of £205.29 from Hatton Garden Metals from selling my gold. That has now been transferred into my Extra Earnings pot taking the total to £210.89:D:D:DNovember NSD's - 70

Ebay sales have finished and I have about £30 left after ebay/paypal fees have been paid so another nice sum to go into my extra earnings pot:)
Can't wait until payday tomorrow and I will finally have some pennies back in my purse.November NSD's - 70 -
Its payday!:D
When I logged into my account I had an extra £2.46 in my account from Co-op dividend, so that has gone straight to my extra earnings pot. I paid £30 off my overdraft and £7.65 to my virtual sealed pot.
Will be with drawing my cash for the week this morning when I do my food shopping and will be paying:
£1 to washing machine fund
£7 to the 365 day challenge fund for the week @ £1 x 7 days
£7 to my holiday 2011 fund for the week @ £1 x 7 days
£10 to my xmas savings fund
£10 to my 2nd purse
After I have bought this weeks food and topped up with petrol and set aside money for this months Beavers subs, I should have around £50 to last me the rest of the week. However, I don't actually have anything else on my list for this week to buy so that £50 should last me with no problems at all!
I am hoping to buy a few bits for my 2nd purse stock today. This will only be counted as a spend, as I use the item and payback the 2nd purse, not when I buy it in the first place, otherwise it will just confuse me.
Certainly will not be a NSD for me today:rotfl:
In my signature I will be counting only the £10 per week I have paid into the 2nd purse, not any money I have made in profit, which will eventually end up in the 3rd purse, although I expect that to take quite a long time to get to that point:D
I also expect to deposit a small payment into my sealed pot at some point today from any smaller coins after my trip to Tesco.
All my pots are building up nicely and everything is getting paid when it should so I am very happy with the way things are going at the moment:)
I have finished my shopping list and meal planner for the week. My grocery budget for this week is £75. I am hoping to come in under this and have a little money left over.
I also have had a plan..... the ice cream man comes up our road about 3 times per week and obviously the kids all moan when I say they can't have an ice cream because of the cost. I didn't mind so much as a treat last summer even though the cost was £1.00 for a Mr Whippy with a flake but this year he has put his prices up to £1.60:eek: Even the least expensive lolly is £1.20, so I refuse to pay those prices, especially with 4 kids to buy for. So I have decided that I will use the 2nd purse to buy some ice creams for the freezer, fabs/rockets/cornets etc on a good deal (I have been looking around and there are some really good deals on ice creams) When the ICV comes, I will go to the freezer and 'buy' the ice creams from myself at 50p each:) I wouldn't mind paying 50p per item which is even cheaper than the local shops too. This will benefit us all as the kids still get an ice cream, and my 2nd purse builds up even more, I wouldn't however be paying the 2nd purse £1.60 for them as I know I wouldn't pay that price for one in the first place. I have a feeling my 2nd purse would be quite full by the end of the summer holidays:D
In a bid to save even more money I am off to check out Martins email for this week and see what bargains are to be had. I will be back later with an update;)November NSD's - 70 -
£37.20 spent in Tesco this morning, this does not include everything I bought from my 2nd purse for stock. My grocery total for this week will increase as I 'buy' back from my stocks and pay money to the 2nd purse.
Threw some more pennies in the sealed pot taking the total up to £78.53, which I am rather pleased about. I have borrowed some money from here for my 2nd purse and will be replacing it as I gradually increase the amount in the 2nd purse.
I still have £37.80 left out of this weeks grocery money so am hoping to have a decent amount left by next Tuesday which is the end of my week.
Put £25 petrol in the car, while I was at Tesco so that is paid for, for another week.
I need to buy some packaging for my eBay parcel today, I will be dropping them off at the post office later. Hopefully that won't make too huge of a dent in my leftover money.November NSD's - 70 -

26p to sealed pot
5.47 spent out of grocery money

Will update sig.....November NSD's - 70
