Hi, I was reading about your Disney disappointment and wondered if you'd considered going for the day? My husband and I went last year by Eurostar, we stayed in a "hotel off the park" for 2 nights (which was by far the most expensive part of the holiday). When we arrived we found that the Eurostar station is straight outside the Park entrance, plus Disneyland Paris is pretty small and we had seen it all in one day. We both said if we'd known we could've got the first Eurostar of the morning to Disney and the last back at night and saved a fortune.Mortgage to clear asap! - [STRIKE]£148,874.38 [/STRIKE]as at 1 May 2013£79,176.55 May 2018£59,516.06 July 2019November 2020 £35,914.620

Morning all.
I havent posted for a few days as there has been so much going on. Firstly my grandad died on tuesday night:( and everything has been a bit upside down and also I have been frantically trying to get everything done for our holiday tomorrow.
Today I will be ironing and packing and having my hair cut. We are leaving at 8.30am tomorrow morning so there won't be any time then to do anything other than get the kids all up, dressed and sorted.
Right, I better get off this computer and on with the tasks for today.November NSD's - 70 -
Sorry to read about your Grandad
I hope you have a good holiday despite the inevitable sadness xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Thanks Hypno. Yes it is kind of weird flying off on holiday after this happening:( The funeral is booked for 20th and I have sorted out friends to take care of children so I can go.
Suitcases are all packed, just a few last minute jobs to get done before we leave at 8.30. Will get the kids up about 7am as they all had baths/showers last night and only need to have breakfast and get dressed this morning.
Have a good week all, will 'see' you after I get back xNovember NSD's - 70 -
Morning all.
Back to it this morning after a week in the sun. Weather was beautiful, as was hotel and food! Loads of washing to do today. I think it will take a week to get myself back on track!
Lots to get done this week before the kids break up from school on friday. Bought a fair bit of money back with me from spain:)
Will be decorating the dining room this week before I go to Ikea on Thursday. By the end of the week my dining room should be finished:)
Must get on, the washing machine beckons!November NSD's - 70 -
Back to it this morning:) I have done half the washing and most of it is still drying. Hoping to get a few more washes done today if the weather holds.
Have dealt with all the post that came last week and it is now all up to date and everything has been filed away.
Off to the vets this morning with my youngest cat for his injections. He is on their cat health plan so no bill to pay:)
Need to make a start on August budget this week as I have left it longer than I like to sort out. Nothing major to pay out next month but I do have school shoes to pay for and a couple of PE t-shirts for DS2. I would also like to buy some accessories for my dining room but that will depend on how much money I have left.
I am hoping as August will be a low spend month, that I will be able to get a few more jobs done around the house. Although that will depend on what the budget says, when I have finished it!
There are a couple of parcels waiting for me at the post office, I think this is DD's school uniform. Will try and collect this afternoon if I have time.
Off for a little browse before I have to wake the kids up for school!November NSD's - 70 -
Morning all!
Decorating day today:) I am hoping to get the walls done in the dining room today. I dont think I will have time to do the woodwork, but will be happy to just get all the walls done.
It is sunny here this morning so fingers crossed I can actually get some of these holiday clothes washed and dry. The weather has been awful since we have been back so I havent got that much done and need to catch up!
Money is looking ok for the rest of this month. I have a list of things left to pay out and I have a little money left over, so am trying to decide where I should put it.
August budget also looking good so far. Still playing around with the figures at the moment, should have more of an idea by the weekend, what else I will have to pay out for. I have a few items in august budget that I could pay out of july budget but this will depend on how much I spend at Ikea this week.
Have a good day all xNovember NSD's - 70 -
Glad to see that you had a good holiday - you certainly seem to be full of energy on your return!
Good luck with the decorating - the dining room will look fab, I'm sure! I went to IKEA at the weekend and spent a small fortune......but it is the first time I have done so since moving house, so was all stuff that was actually needed. (she says, hoping she sounds believable!!).
Good to see budgets are looking healthy too.....keep up the good work!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
it is very easy to spend a lot at Ikea:) Again the same as you I have loads of things I actually need, none of it will be impulse purchases!November NSD's - 70
