Why can't you eat lunch in any of the classes? Surely you'll have a lecture for one of them, just sit at the back and munch away whilst writing notes.
That sounds good, but i only have 1 lecture on a Friday and thats 10-11am!
So Fridays look like this for me now:
lecture 10-11
spanish 11-1
seminar 11-3
seminar 3-5
Have emailed my lecturer saying that all i can do is let all my friday lecturers know the situation, and see how it goes. I'll either be a bit late, or have to leave the class a bit earlier.0 -

She has replied saying bring your own lunch with you, and try to get away from the class early!
Why do you need to get something for lunch? On a Thursday, I had one free hour between classes. This wasn't enough time to go home and eat. So, I either had to bring my own food or buy food from the canteen.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

So i am expected to leave my house at 9am, not get back home till 6pm without anything to eat all day?0 -
You have to take a pack lunch. I used to do 10-12 (workshop), 12-1 (lecture) 1-2 (seminar) 2-4 (workshop) and 4-6 (workshop) before going to choir practice (6.30pm-8.30pm).
I just had to take a pack lunch and eat it during my workshop or seimar0 -

Take food with you? It's not that hard.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I had lectures/seminars from 8.30am to 7pm two days a week in my second term...it took some getting used too, but if you take your own snacks it won't be as bad as it sounds.0

10 - 5 isn't a long day, even with the travelling added on. Many jobs dealing with the public involve working through the lunch hour and grabbing a sandwich on the run.
I think you're making a fuss about nothing.0 -

sounds a bit like my job, only with an hour extra either side
yes - it's a long day. but most seminars finish a few minutes early (a lot are told to, to make sure that students can move between locations) so it won't be desperate.
they won't change the timetable for you - it's too complicated to move anything at this stage. you need to find a solution that works rather than get het up about the situation any further. a packed lunch at the back of the room seems reasonable.
there is an upside - this means that everyone else will have to come into uni on a different day to do whatever they do instead of your spanish class. this gives you bigger blocks of free time elsewhere to either do uni work or part time work. every cloud...

goodness me - thank heavens you aren't doing the same radiotherapy course my son is - he is 1st year and lectures are from 9am until 4.30pm 4 days per week!
how on earth will you ever survive the working world if you can't work out how to eat a packed lunch during a seminar?:)
now I know why my son laughs at the other students in his halls who moan at having to complete 8 hours of lectures PER WEEK !
in my working life during busy times I have often worked solidly from 8.30 am until 6pm with barely time for a loo break let alone a lunch break - you really have no idea:rotfl:0 -

I agree. I found it much easier to have 2 full days (well, 9.30-4pm & 9.30-6.30pm - later changed to 9.30-12.30pm) and a half day than having 4 days at uni where I would only be in for an hour or two. Someone I lived with last year, had a seminar on a Friday at 9.30am and that was it for Friday.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
