Bless your OH! If you were my lady love I'd be proud of you too. Considering how well they work, and how drastically different I know my Mum feels with just a couple days off the tablets it is really pretty brave what you did for your baby's sake.

Flower - sounds like you are being really brave without the anti depressants.

I think you're amazing too Flower for coming off the anti-depressants cold turkey. It must have been so difficult, try to concentrate on your fantastic little baby though. I'm sure you'll start to be all bloom-y soon and feel less gloomy!

Aww thank you :o dont feel like I'm doing anything brave to be honest, just doing whats best for the baby.
OH took me to look at pushchairs yesterday, as he knows as soon as we start talking about and preparing for baby it cheers me up - so he is doing his best bless him :D (although I have to say there are rediculous amount of pushchairs to chose from I dont even know where to start!)

Finally got a lazy afternoon at home, all to myself! OH was off this morning, but is working now and won't be home until 10:30pm so I've got many hours to while away.

He's started applying for other jobs though, and we were typing his CV up over breakfast this morning. Dropped him off at work yesterday and he admitted he was actually feeling sick at the thought of going. So the job search is well and truly on in the Cinny Household.

Shopping went well yesterday, cupboards and fridge/freezer is packed. Also stocked up on OH's favourite deodorant as it was on offer, finally bought a cork board for the Kitchen and another little present for my Sisters Birthday.

Watching some things on iPlayer at the moment. BBC3 mainly, I like the little life documentaries they do. But I do need to give the house a quick tidy once this one goes off, my Sister is popping over later so at least I won't be plodding on my lonely all afternoon!

I hope your OH finds a good new job Cinny, that's not good if he's dreading going in. What's happened to make him feel that way?

Is it sad that I'm quite looking forward to doing a big shop tomorrow?! We've not gone food shopping together for ages and got into a really bad habit of each of us doing lots of little shops so we're now trying a new system of mega shops every 2 weeks in an effort to keep tabs on our spending. I'm going to sneak some baking ingredients into the trolley too so I can make pumpkin cake, yum!

I really look forward to the big shop, I cannot judge! I'd love to be able to do a big shop every two weeks rather than one a week, but OH wrecks my meal plans and I think just likes that one time a week where we can just chuck what we like in the trolley and not feel so dreadfully broke! Good luck with the plan!

I think it's mainly the people he's working with. He misses the people he worked with back in Sheffield so much, they really were just like a big group of friends that got paid to spend time with each other! Plus the woman who manages the shop he's mainly working in atm sounds horrible, it does seem like she's with it with everybody which isn't really any excuse but it does seem like she's singling OH out. Plus he's sick of their empty promises, they've moved him to 3 different branches promising managing training but nothing. And we're wanting to get married and start our own family in the not too distant future, we'd prefer to be a bit better off before we take that adventure on! OH doesn't like the idea of me looking for another job, I think it's because he knows I want to be a SAHM and I think he likes the ideal of the stereotypical breadwinning Husband.

Hope your OH finds something as doesn't sound like he is enjoying job and considering you spend most your time there is quite important! Bless him for wanting to be the main breadwinner. I know you shouldn't say it but is reasurring when the guy earns more and makes it easier on maternity leave!

Aww your OH's are lovely! I'm not quite so lucky, I know that OH would like me to be a SAHM, or at least part time but all of his hopes career-wise are on me, he's expecting me to be the big earner (not really going to happen!). His job is fairly well paid for what he does but that's the problem, its not challenging or full of responsibility and there's no scope for promotion so unless he moves he's never going to earn any more (expect the tiny yearly payrise). He got a personal evaluation form to fill in on Monday and he's refusing to do it because he doesn't like the feeling of the management team looking at it and laughing at what he's got to say about his career plans etc which is really sad. He's too lazy (and I think a little scared) to look for other jobs, I think he's so used to coasting through his work days that he doesn't want to actually really work for a living! That's OK now, but when he's got a family to support it'll be a worry!

I'll certainly agree it's easier when the man earns more. NIM is really ambitious and would love to be able to support me to stay at home part time (I used to want to be a SAHM but I've realised as I've got older I need to have an outside challenge too) but the economy and our geographical location really don't help career progression. Cinny, would he not consider it a good option for you to get another job in the short term to save up enough for the house/wedding/baby, so you can stop when a family comes along? Might speed things up a bit! However as everyone says, you do manage on what you've got, it's just what you're happy with thats the issue.

In all honesty, I'm a lazy snuggly buggly so if OH tells me I don't need to get a second job that's all fine by me. When it comes to it we've got 3.5k in savings if something unexpected were to happen, which would cover my share of the bills on the unpaid 13 weeks of maternity, if I were to go the full term which I doubt, and with enough to one side to buy most of what we'd need for baby if we're a little frugal. But then if we were to fall pregnant, we'd obviously add to those savings while I'm baking the thing. Not that I've thought this through or anything *rollyeyes* With getting married we'll be the type to do it on near nothing, a quick ceremony followed by a big meal with family and friends - quite like how Birdie did her 'married but waiting for the sunshine' non-wedding wedding. (I still don't have a clue what to call it!) Not a chance on a big church wedding, considering I'm atheist that would be just plain wrong!

Not much happening today. Pottering around the house with OH this morning, I did all the cleaning yesterday so just need to tidy up the messes we make as we go! He's got work this afternoon in my old town so I'm going to drop him off and go see my parents for the evening.

Doing a car boot with my Mum tomorrow if the weather holds up. Already taken our bits to sell across so just need to get myself there all bright eyed and bushy tailed! At about 5:30, which'll mean a 4:45 wake up call  Crikey.
