EON: Price increase announced.

Unless the tariff is a fixed one, it simply isn't a case of 'getting in just before the price increase', I'm afraid. If those figures don't reflect the increase then they will come 4/2/11.0

Seems like the price increase is on par with all the other suppliers.
I wonder if USwitch and other comparison sites are now taking into consideration the latest price for EON when spitting out the results?
Hi sho_me_da_money,
The comparison sites are taking the E.ON price increase in to account.DebtMagnet wrote: »Does anyone know if you still get Tesco Clubcard points with this product?
I know a few of the products recently have stated that you don't collect points but can't see any mention on the T's & C's (although i have only scanned very quick as in work)?
the Price Protection April 2014 product specifically says that you get Clubcard points but no mention either way on the saveonline 5?
Thanks in advance
DM
Hi DM,
SaveOnline 5 doesn't offer Tesco Club Card points, but some of our tariff's do still offer the points.merrymilla wrote: »Hi - first post here after receiving the newsletter for ages now!
Couldn't believe it when I read the E.ON headline on BBC an hour or so ago. I've just this morning (8am-ish) switched my electricity package from E.ON's EnergyPlan to E.ON SaveOnline 5, which is listed with the following prices:
Normal units up to 900 kWhs per year
17.787 pence
Normal units
10.626 pence per kWh
Does anyone know... should I expect these prices to now go up from next month, meaning I've shafted myself somewhat? Or have I been very lucky in getting onto the tariff at the last minute before E.ON announced their price rise?
First time I've ever done anything regarding changing my utility provider, so I'm not fully up to speed with how this would work. The T's & C's suggested that there was a penalty charge if I switch away before Jan 2012, but it looks as though I've got 14 days to change my mind on the tariff switch - so if I've actually just signed myself up for a more expensive year than expected, I'll try and get out of it now while I still can.
Any helpful information or comments appreciated!
Hi merrymilla,
The SaveOnline 5 prices will stay as they are, as you say this tariff only came out today and the unit costs won't go up on 4 February 2011.
You can ask E.ON to do a comparison for you and make sure you are on the best prices for your needs, also check out the comparions sites.

With E.ON SaveOnline 5** your prices will always be at least 6% cheaper than our standard prices right up to 1 April 2012. So no matter what happens to your E.ON SaveOnline 5 prices, you'll always know that you're saving.

That's correct Dan, SaveOnline 5 isn't a fixed or protected tariff, so can go up and down with future prices increases/decreases.

I checked all sites this morning (before the BBC announcement) and EON Save Online V4 was coming up as the best for two properties. So I switched to EON Save Online V4 Duel Fuel for both properties.
I am checking now and the same sites are reporting that EDF Online Saver is cheaper for duel fuel.
Strangely, Save Online V4 does not even show up in the comparison list. Save Online V5 does - Any ideas what is going on here? Has EON V4 been replaced by V5?
Also, I note there is a cool off period of 7/14 days? As I switched over just this morning, can I cancel?
EON V4 is still showing up on Confused.com whereas all the other sites are showing EON V5. Here is a bunch of results from 4 sites showing the results for one of my properties. EDF and SP are the top two and EON V5 is in 4th/5th place. Figures are annual consumption in £££'s.
USwitch
EDF - 1116.29
SP - 1135.08
EON5 - 1150.12
Money Supermarket
EDF - 871.56
SP - 877.67
EON5 - 906.90
Confused.com
EON4 - 950.25
EDF - 982.18
SP - 994.94
Energy Helpline
EDF - 982
SP - 995
EON5 - 1011
Now to check the other property......brb0 -
Second Property reporting the exact same figures.
Can I cancel the switch I initiated today and go with EDF?
Also is EON V4 now known as EON V5?
Thanks guys.0
