Just a thought - if you are going to be on it for a long time like me (I reckon I still have 4 years to go!) don't be too strict with yourselves or it will drive you mad  Make sure you allow enough 'wrigge room' in your budget to allow for some fun :D

No - about every 6-12 months they ask for a revised SOA looking for increased payments but I have had no CCJ's etc. and have never missed a DMP payment

Some will not accept a first offer but if you just keep paying CCCS and they pay the creditor they tend to settle down after a while

    HTH :D

Binnie, I forgot to say good luck with the job interview!

    Hi Pink Angel,
I haven't got an interview, but applied for three jobs. Hopefully someone will take pity on me and give me an interview.:D
I hate just sending a CV in, they don't get to see the real you..
My mum died in Sept 11th 2009 and to be honest I am still struggling to come to terms with it, but I have been a lot better. I had time off for bereavement, then had a little holiday. Once I went back to work, it was a bit overpowering so I took a week off. I seemed to get warning after warning after that and even when I fell down the stairs and couldn't get my shoes on for two days, they expected me to go into work. I worked in a department store where yous tand all day and they couldn't provide a seat, so I thought it was silly of me going in with a suspected broken toe.
It still is sore now years later.
I did go to work for 8 months solid without a day off, but then got depressed after mums one year anniversary.
There were problems within work like the boss telling tales, too much !!!!!ing going on and somedays hardly any customers with too much thinking time for me.
On friday I was meant to attend a meeting for the possibilities of dismissal but it was at the end of the day, and it took it's toll on me , so I resigned.
My boss seemed a bit upset for me to leave as he liked me and thought I was a good worker. But I couldn't cope with head office dishing out the disciplinaries.
Anyway I am now having counselling from wed and hope things will go onwards and upwards.
A new job may do me good. I deffo need one with the financial mess we are in.

Good luck all, sorry for rambling, I don't half waffle.

  • Having a bad day ... My hamster is very poorly. I've taken him to the vets today and he has to have a swelling lancing, which is likely to be an abcess or may be a tumour, in which case he's have to be put to sleep. I can't let the poor thing suffer, so he's having it done tihis afternoon. But I can only pay for it for using a credit card if it's more than £50, so that's what I'm going to have to do. Feeling upset about my hamster and sick about the possiblity of having to use a credit card.:(

Feels like one thing on top of another at the moment ....

hi - sorry if this has already been mentioned - regarding the pre-payment meters - i had the same problem when i moved into my house 6 years ago. the prevous owner obviously owed money to the gas and electric companies (scottish gas and scottish power) as it was pre-payment meters that were there. scottish power were totally fine about removing the pre-payment and replacing it with a dry meter but scottish gas were a nighmare! they credit checked me and told me i had failed - at the time my credit was good and we had just got our mortgage and a bank loan. the energy company charge a rental on these pre-payment metres so they want you to have them as they are making money out of them. i was told to try again in 6 months. 6 months of messing about in the rain fiddling with gas cards and i tried again - and supposedly failed the credit check again. i said that was fine and i was switching suppliers even if it was with a pre-payment meter and lo and behold she came back to me to say she'd spoken to a supervisor and said they would give me a dry meter so long as i set up a direct debit for my payments! it's worth a try - they want u to keep using the pre-payment cos they get a rental for it and it guarentees you'll never owe them any money, and i personally think they were talking mince when they said i'd failed a credit check - don't get me wrong i would totally fail now, but at the time i think they were just hoping i'd accept it and keep the pre-payment
