Today was a spend day as I had a visitor at work. My friend has started her own business and I'm hoping she's asked me to help. That will be an extra £30 in the savings pot when I do.
I have £4.50 in o2 rewards. Hmmm, I'll probably use it on call credit.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

I've still not heard from Mr T about the free cavity wall insulation. Just checked the website and it said the offer ended at the end of September. I tried to email them but as these things happen, I could not get onto the next page. So, I'm not sure if they will honor the fact I contacted them before the closing date.
I've contacted our energy provider to see if I can get the insulation through them instead.
Hmmm, should I contact some more companies?Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

The final electrician's bill came in and it's £200 over the quote. The extra will have to come out of the joint account.
Last night the freezer door fell off. Thank goodness we were still up to fit it on again.
I still have my visitor at work and I'm having to buy him lunch. I'll get that money back but not for my own lunch. Yesterday I spent £7 on soup, a roll and a coffee  Can't wait until it's back to £1.50 or less.
But I did manage to buy quite a few sell by food today. We saved £4.59 and I used my clubcard.
After the second night of trying I signed up my Nect@r card. I have about 50p in points :rotfl:. Mr P's card has been ordered to get those points quicker. I'm aiming for a new vacuum cleaner.
I've had some bad phone news. Mr P says I'll need a new phone very soon. Does anyone know if the phone deals get better in the run up to Xmas?Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

Cheap lunch today, I broke the trend and took a packed lunch.
Spent about £3.50 on top up food and other bits today, saving around 75p by buying sell by food. We're having guests next weekend so I stocked up on sell by choc au pain for them. Mr P's BIL was not impressed by the cheap cereal we had last time he visited. And that was before he even tried it.
Poor Mr P; this week he is working very long hours. I bought him a pack of his favourite biscuits to cheer him up.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

Today I left the bedroom light on all day, arghhhh.
My work visitor has gone so next week I can claim the money back that I spent on him.
Last night I nearly made a whole mean from the store cupboard.
Newgirly and I currently have similar sized mortgages, I was blown away by the amount she is planning to knock off her mortgage as part of the MFiT-T3 challenge. I was planning on reducing the mortgage to £130,000. I'm going to up my game and try to knock it down to £125,000.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

I am working in the bar tonight. It will be the first time behind the bar in  12 years so I'm a bit nervous about giving the patrons the right change.
But, the £30 I'll get at the end is my motivation. Guess where that's going, straight into the savings pot.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

I made £6.40 in tips. The cheers emoticon seemed appropriate.
The tips went straight into the savings pot.
Being behind a bar again was both scary and exciting. Plus a lot of fun. I really hope she asks me again.
It was also a NSD and I declined an invitation to C$stco.
Yesterday I spent another couple of hours in the garden. Now the wheelie bin and both compost bins are full. Plus we have a massive pile of branches in the back garden. But there's still a lot more to do. Mainly the pruning the hedge, cutting back the ivy (although I do want some for Xmas decorations) and weeding the veg patch/old compost area.
There's a lot of plants that were overtaking the borders so I pulled off the foliage in the hope it will not grow back as strong next year. But the borders look a mess. Raking it over has helped a little.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

Hi Peonie,
just de-lurking to say that I have read your thread from begining to end, last night and this afternoon, and it is great. You are an inspiration and your postings are so interesting. Thanks for the posts and good luck with the mortgage free journey and your other aims.

Hi Peonie... with any luck you have different plants to us. It seems the more I hack away at them (any time of year) the more they grow back!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0

Hi peonie, just because I have set a high target doesn't mean I will manage itOur target does not include money for anything except basic living and food, so chances are we will not hit it anyway :rotfl:
