MRN, I know what you mean. But then we wouldn't have fun checking our spreadsheets and bank accounts. The horse bank have a 'save the change' feature. Every time the debit card is used the feature will round down the amount spent to the nearest pound and moves it to a savings account. Unfortunately you can't send the change into anything interesting like an ISA or the mortgage. Also, their savings accounts interest rates are lower than my current account, so I don't see the point.

I got the money back that I was owed from work. I need to pay £200 into the bank but got into work long before the bank opened and left as it was closing. I'll try again tomorrow.

  • I guess you're right P. It would take the fun out of it! Not to mention the chance to keep some back if you've gone OTT on the CC one month!

It would. I think I have less to write about as a lot of my banking is automated.

I forgot to say earlier that the guests have gone.

After eating the last of the cake I completed day 1 of The Shred. I am knackered. I could not find my weights so had to settle for tinned tomatoes. I made sure they were both chopped, you know, in case a tin of peeled toms made a difference. Ha ha.

I am out tomorrow night so may not have enough time for day 2.

Today I'm paying for staying up too late yesterday. Day 2 of the Shred may have to be postponed again.

    Lunch to work: 3/5

A small spend day today on food.

We're having a jumble dinner to use up some bits. I left some leftovers from Monday for Mr P's dinner and he managed to eat 2 portions.

  • Hi P,

I have to take what I want for my lunch before OH is allowed seconds. He was brought up to clear his plate then the pan. But slowly he's learning that food can be enjoyed again another day!

Oh yeah, I know that one. Don't get me wrong, I'm within the right side of the BMI but I used to out eat my dad. And that included clearing the pan.

I was going to freeze the extra portion for another day. He looked so innocent when he said he had a 'Mr P' sized portion and there was not enough for anyone else so he had to have it. Personally I would have added an extra tin of chopped toms. But what do I know!

I was going to make homemade bolognaise sauce but Mr P pulled his face and told me he does not like it. :-( And I thought it was getting better.

I did day 2. I really can't do press ups so I want to crack them in the next few weeks. Have any graduates moved onto the next DVD?

I need to find my FD log in details to move the money as soon as it matures. I've had a quick look and can't find them. Oops.

My car insurance is up next month. I've been on the price comparison sites and it should come in £86 less than last year. Not bad. I can't believe I just accepted the renewal prices for years and paid more than I had to.

Day 5 of exercise complete. :j This is me doing jumping jacks.

    Packed lunches: 5/5.

I had a mishap and spent some money on myself. It was my friend's fault and I was weak. It's my birthday weekend so I'm hoping I get some cash to cover the cost (£30/£62) so far.

I finally booked my parent's weekend away. I had £210 in vouchers but it's going to cost me an extra £180.

The FD saver matured. I transferred the majority of the money back to the horse bank and set up another 12 month saver. So I can report another £300 saved. And I should be able to save a bit more before the end of the month.

Birthday money went back down to £0 when Mr P took it to buy drinks. I had a great evening and spent it with friends.

    Packed lunch (1/5).

I think I'm coming down with something so I'm having a break from exercise. I've had a nosey around u-tube and there's exercise videos! And they're free. Why did no one tell me? Now I don't need to go to another exercise class again.
