Olokia-your dress is beautiful, you will be stunning!
Bride2b - Hi welcome to May 2012! Sounds as though things are under way for you, sure you'll find the perfect venue soon.
Confirmation came from registry office today which is making it all feel real at last! Going to order OH's birth certificate tomorrow so can give notice as soon as he's back in the UK-has to be done before August or they'll cancel booking apparently according to letter.
Seen some lovely dresses for my BMs (my DDs) and they're really cheap too so all better! Will order in the next couple of weeks. Youngest just needs a flower girl dress which should be easy enough to pick up.
Asked my sister to be a witness and was worried about asking her to be a BM, as didn't want to upset her, but just wanted my girls and didn't want to ask SIL2B and kind of felt obliged to have both or none. Anyway OH has suggested he ask her (SIL2B) to be the other witness, (my subliminal programming is working well even from abroad!) so hopefully that's them both equally offended and just my girls as BMs. My sister isn't bothered actually as at least this way she gets to choose her own dress and wear whatever she likes. it may have been the threat of a lime green gypsy wedding style dress that sealed it!Married the man of my dreams May 4th 2012

Just a wee update. On my wedding at nissi beach cyprus.
We had our confirmation off wedding date which will be 15th of may. Its the only date we can get married as only going for a week and when we fly. Unfortunitly its the day before we fly home.
Its gonna be just me h2b and kids going out. Ive got the kids outfits in BHS sale so cute.
for my son who will be 8 a wee suit with coral on his waist coat
for my daughter 11 coral bridesmaid dress
Also ordered my wedding ring in the h samuel sale. Just trying to get h2be to get the same waist coat as my son but he wants cream
Olokia - love the dress0 -
Not been on myself in a while
@Olokia - Thanks for remembering to add my name to the list
I think we are almost sorted.
Venue is booked - just need to pay it off
Deposit paid on dress
Deposit paid on Registrar
Venue dressing company paid for
Two wedding cakes being made by friend
Bridesmaid dresses to be bought by themselves
Just need to book photographer, sort out bouquets for girls and find a decent, reasonably priced suit hire company.

Yay, another person getting married on May 4th!!
Hello Ruthybabs!
Not got much more planning done but have started handing out save the dates - probably a bit early but there was a family do so I did the MSE thing n saved money on postage!!Gaffa tape is like the Force; It has a Dark side, a Light sideand it holds the universe together0 -
Thanks for adding me in Olokia!
Ickle yoda, I'm with you on the savings stamps idea. I totted up the cost of postage for our save the dates, invites and thank you cards - over £50, and that's with second-class stamps! :eek:0 -
hi, thanks for adding me to the list!
Well today, I got insurance sorted out, and also checked with my mum that her and my dad can take our dog for the fortnight after the wedding so we can go on honeymoon - would've hated to put him in kennels that long! So that's that sorted, just have to plan our honeymoon now. Bit of inter-railing round Europe looks top of the list (OH not a fan on flying) at the moment.
My mum has also said that she and dad will pay for my sisters bridesmaid and flower girl dresses, and SIL2B has said she will pay for the other flower girl dress for her little one.
Which is all fab! Finally feels like everything is starting to come together!
Only bad news is the firm I wanted to hire my VW campervan (we are having a bit of a VW theme to the wedding) from has decided to shut down. Emailed them when I first got engaged to see if they did wedding hire, as really they just rent them out for holidays. They told me to get back in touch once I had set a date, so dropped them an e-mail, and they e-mailed back to say they were closing the business down. So if anyone knows of anyone hiring campervans in the north of Scotland, give me a shout!

Hi ladies
@Olokia-thanks for adding me, feel included now!
@Ickle yoda - it's exciting to have someone with the same date, see how we get on over the next 311 days!
@belfastme - Nissi beach is gorgeous! It will be lovely to get married over there, even if you get the honeymoon 1st! OH and I 1st started going out in Cyprus so it has special memories for us, but unfortunately we couldn't afford to get married over there and as he wants his family there, it's definitely out of their price range.
@bride2be - there is a VW rally near me on July 30th-you could google it, might come up with some ideas of people to approach. Try Vw rally Tynemouth.
Found a wedding dress I like online and tempted to order it, but not sure whether to go and try some on 1st. This is my 2nd wedding, so know what suits me and don't want to spend a fortune on a dress for one day, but still want to be a princess! Heart vs head I guess! Our wedding is going to be pretty informal though-registry office and a party on a boat with a hog roast is looking most likely, so a great big meringue would look a little OTT! Slight concern ordering from China and have read the horror threads on here, but having said that there are lots of positive stories too. Anyway, thoughts please and about the bridesmaids dresses we found (BMs will be 13 and 15 yr old DDs)

Hi everyone!
Im getting married on 11th May 2012, and I cannot wait!! So far I have registry office booked, chosen bridesmaids, found my dress & OH's suit (but not bought) and made more lists and spreadsheets than I know what to do with! Everything Im doing is going to be DIY - invites, cake, evening buffet! Very exciting but bit scary too. My bridesmaids are choosing their own high street dresses which is a big load off my mind as they are all very different! If I can stick to my budget everything should come in under £1500! Wish me luck!:footie: COYS :footie:
Now a Married woman0 -
@ ruthybabs, thanks, but unfortunately Tynemouth is about 5 hours drive south of me! Love those dresses though!
@ spursgal - Welcome! That's about our budget as well, so hoping it can be done!0
