Knowing that so many Boots staff read this forum, what are the chances the sale goes live when this website is offline for 8hrs on saturday :rotfl:

Well i wont be buying at 50% it's still too expensive, the things I have been looking at would only be worth it at 75% off. Many other stores have had some great bargains this year and I already have a box full of presents. I'll be saving my money now, wont even bother nipping into boots even if i'm in town.

    Im doing the same.
    2014 wins-2 picnic hampers,Boxfresh goodies,foodie festival tickets,Polo event tickets,Kent airshow family ticket,£25 Nisa voucher,New Pines holiday for 6,meal for 6,fake tan and mitt,pickled beetroot,£50,£100 Mucky boots voucher.
Thanks and good luck to all! xx:beer::j:money::T

Really.....? You are a stronger person than me if you can do this. The only way I can not go in 'just to check' is to not leave my office at lunchtime and not go anywhere near the shops, LOL!
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!
  • I did give in and bought a couple of large items at 50%, only because dd requested for next xmas. But thats it no more unless its 75%. Family will be disappointed as i usually bulk out their piles on xmas day with bargains from boots. Iv'e depended on it for the last few years. Shame on you mr boots.

HI do you mean me ? because I only started on forum yesterday so if i am doing things sorry.Any tips would be appreciated thanks

Not at all. It is just we always had a massive Boots thread and we all seemed to get more bargains. But because some people were nasty on there, and even opened new identities on here to hide who they really were, the thread was closed and we all really missed it. One lovely lady on here set it up and updated it each month and we all got loads of bargains. I hope you dont think my post was nasty just trying to get it made into 1,

My tips are welcome and hope you save lots of money by using MSE.

Ok then. I e-mailed Boots this morning to ask when it goes to 75% and said we were all disappointed that we spend a lot of money in store all year to get and spend vouchers. I said Boots should maybe remember we contribute to the large profits and reward us with the 75% sale.
Well I just had a phone call from Boots Head Office in response to my e-mail.
He told me the sale was never scheduled for this week ( which I find strange as the SA in my store told me this morning all the signage was dated 12.1.11). He said he was pretty sure it would not be this week as they would know at Head Office if it was. He said it may be next week ( sigh) or the next.
He actually said that it was mentioned on Martin Lewis's site that it was this week and that info was incorrect. So Boots do read our threads!
So It seems it probably wont be this week but next which means I wont be able to go. However all you ladies and gents will still be able to take part.
But I am still going to get up tommorow and go to my store to see if he was telling the truth.

I shopped in the smaller branch of Boots in the Buttermarket Ipswich last year, when they did the final reductions so to speak. Definetely better value and was still quite a selection left. So fingers crossed I can do the same this year. Will post if I see any further reductions in store.
    Growing old disgracefully!
