i agree we all need to just calm down and wait patiently as i for one wont be buying anything in the 50% sale who's with me??
I'm with you, I'd rather do without if it stays at 50% - its not that much of a bargain when you consider the 3 for 2 offer at Christmas (which I bought most of my presents using!). So I'm prepared to hang on for the 75% sale if it comes, if not, I'll go to another shop! We need to make sure we don't panic buy at 50% as then Mr Boots has got what he wanted and we don't want that do we???

Just read this in the through above link ( I work for Boots and we were sent a memo yesterday morning saying:
"All sale items will be remaining at 50% off. The company does not have any plans for a 75% off sale this year." )
If this person read this yesterday then how come other SA's that people have spoken to today haven't heard about it?0

I'm not buying at 50% - there's nothing that I can justify buying at the 50% price and I'm not in any rush to buy presents so I'm sure I'll find stuff elsewhere if the Boots stock does stay at 50%.
I have a theory that they're putting extra stuff on that's low in stock so they can put sold out on them to panic people into buying!!!:eek::eek:0

Probably because they haven't told the SAs!“Rain drops are not the ones who bring the clouds.”0

Went into Swansea city branch yesterday at 8.45am in anticipation of further reductions as the second Wed of the year has traditionally been 'the day'. Were a few ladies (like me) mulling over the 50% sale items, but not buying anything.. I asked a sales assistant if/when the further sale was due and she said she didn't know, adding that she didn't know if there would even be further reductions this year Seems that Boots are reeeeeally holding out this year to move as much as poss at 50% but like other postee's I think we too should hold out until the very last when hopefully they will have to reduce further to shift their Xmas stock. Stick together MSE's!!! :beer:0

Boots have a lot of SA's. It's possible that in a lot of places only the manager read the memo and didn't bother to pass on the information. I mean it's not that important to the staff what price things are, their job is to serve the customers and stock shelves, etc.
The main reason staff are so interested in the 75% sale is because they want to buy loads themselves.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000

Well i wont be buying at 50% it's still too expensive, the things I have been looking at would only be worth it at 75% off. Many other stores have had some great bargains this year and I already have a box full of presents. I'll be saving my money now, wont even bother nipping into boots even if i'm in town.0
