Went into both of my local Boots today which neither are small stores yet the shelves were completely empty half an hour after they opened :(. Really disappointed as was desperately after the Hello Kitty large vanity case....Bet the horrible women with 12 huge carrier bags had a few!
    :rotfl:
  • Interesting reading what all the other stores had left.

My shop was left with a huge amount of Sanctuary, the white and red bags. Sweet Treat carousels and Extracts stuff.

It appears most of the other large Boots stores were left with loads.

I guess a review of Christmas ordering at Beeston will show that there was an overstocking issue this year.

That's the most stock I have seen left after Christmas for 6 years

I'm glad to see it's not just me who is overly organised for the following Christmas :D

My partner actually thought I was joking the other day when I dismissed a house we were looking at buying due to the lack of a 'Christmas cupboard'...does he not get it?!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Love it! That's the sort of post you wouldn't 'get' on any other forum but l totally agree and understand.

    Happy moneysaving all.
  • Well - that was THE most disappointing experience of the year. :(
The first and probably last time I'll bother with the Boots 75% sale until I retire and can go in the morning - but that is at least 20 years away:o
Just returned - didn't get there until 5.45pm due to work but all they had were pink slippers, pink rocket soaps and cards and a few lonely makeup sets which were in disgusting states.
Came out empty handed (but with cash still in my purse - so that's a good thing in a way).

Fab trip this morning, chatted to some lovely ladies waiting outside my local store, bought lots of things - most of this year's Christmas presents and birthday presents. Oh I love it!!!!
  • Very pleased with my haul today, been going to the Boots sale for the last 4 years. Got to my local store at 9am, got everything I wanted and more, very polite shoppers and helping each other which was very nice. Assistants were lovely and helpful and were bringing out more stock and asking if there was anything we wanted. Spent £85.00 but that's the majority of my Christmas presents sorted, now to stash it all away and forget about it until December.::)
  • How do so many people manage to get there for opening?
Have you all been throwing "sickies"?!!!:D
  • I didn't throw a sickie - luckily I didn't start work until 10am this morning, so got in a good hour of bootsing before i started. I missed last years 75% off due to starting a new job at 8.30 am!!!

DH went to Cardiff Queen Street for 8 am on his way to a meeting, my hero :heartpuls
He said it was fine for the first five minutes and then it just went manic - most people fine but a couple of men with big over the shoulder bags pushing and shoving, grabbing handsful of identical items. When you push a 22 stone man who's 6ft 6 tall though, you bounce off ;)

He came back with an interesting selection - he forgot the list of suggestions, so improvised. Very happy with nice presents for the year plus a couple of treats for me :)

I forgot mine for my first trip this morning and I asked the same question and the SA said no :(

I used my double points coupon (first use) then went back and got a few more bits a little later and was told you can only use it once in one day anyway.
