Boots 75% off sale - possible date

I rang my local boots this morning and SA said 'no it's not on today,' when asked did she know when, her reply, 'i'm sorry I cannot give you that information.' I thought, so she knows when it is but she's not allowed to tell me, so I rang again 1/2 hour later and luckily it was someone else that answered!! He said 'there's been misinformation on certain websites about the 75% off sale, we have stock at 50% off, but we've not been notified of a further sale by headoffice.'

Totally agree with your comments here. The post concerned is bordering on abuse.
Boots are well within their rights to do whatever they want about reducing further, just as much as people have the right to shop when they like.

Excellent post LittleBill :T. I couldn't believe the tone of the post you're referring to, and their sentences in capitals! If people wish to buy items at half price, full price or double price, that is their perogative, and if they wish to buy Christmas gifts for 2011, or even 2021 now, so what?

I do not post on this site as often as i used to ... However i still use it as a very valuable source of info ... and value greatly all the good folk who post info to save others having to trawl to the stores to see what's happening ... Hate to see the atmosphere change from one of comradely helpfulness to pseudo-bullying ...

Many thanks to all who have posted and hopefully the Little 75% Fairy will descend and we will all get what we wished for at Christmas .. only Cheaper!

I've just got back from Chichester and Boots there has some very neatly packed shelves full of sale stuff and absolutely no one looking or buying, we wandered up and down to see what was left and saw things that we hadn't seen before Christmas .. I think someone (Mr Boots) may have shot himself in the foot !

I've been to Boots at Brookfield farm today. They still have lots of sale stock including loads of the usual - Gok, Fern, Strictly. They have a whole aisle emptied of sale stuff so people are still buying, unless it's a ruse....

There was nothing there that I would buy - even if they knock it down to half that again, it's not the type of stuff I could buy as presents for anyone I actually liked!

Now I don't expect any abuse for this, but I picked up my online order - yes it was 50% - and as I was leaving, the alarm went off - it was tagged. This item had only re-appeared online briefly this week - I'm thinking it was excess stock called back in from the stores....

They also had some items from gift sets taken apart and in the bargain bit but probably items where the packaging had been destroyed.

On the 'other ' boots thread the Boots sale not going ahead one - someone has posted that Glasgow Braehead started reducing their stock to 75% off today at lunchtime - went very quickly!
