  • in manchester last year when they did finally reduce to 75% staff were bringing loads of stock out by the boxfull. it wasn't even arranged neatly on shelves, just left in the packaging it was delivered in.

It was all upstairs last week - well, I say 'all' they didn't have much - let us know if they've stocked up :D

I was in Southampton Above Bar at 4ish and there was no one browsing, and no signs of further reductions. Plenty of Fearne boxes, Strictly sets, and some Elle stuff but not a lot that interested me. I would have got the Gok set at 75% off as I quite like the smell, but I have only just cracked open the set I bought in last years 75% sale!!

I've been to Boots at Brookfield farm today. They still have lots of sale stock including loads of the usual - Gok, Fern, Strictly. They have a whole aisle emptied of sale stuff so people are still buying, unless it's a ruse....

There was nothing there that I would buy - even if they knock it down to half that again, it's not the type of stuff I could buy as presents for anyone I actually liked!

Now I don't expect any abuse for this, but I picked up my online order - yes it was 50% - and as I was leaving, the alarm went off - it was tagged. This item had only re-appeared online briefly this week - I'm thinking it was excess stock called back in from the stores....

thanks julie you have solved me venturing up to brookfield if and when 75% does take off as my daughter that lives round corner hasnt had time to check store out but if i remember last year they didnt have much going in that one they had more in the little corner in the waltham cross one getting worried as enfield shelfs are nearly empty unless they got cages out the back like last year

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is what they'll do. In Mr Boots' boots - if I wanted to stop MSErs getting the bargains, I would email individual managers and let them choose when to kick off the 75% reductions; probably not at 9am either.....
My message to that greedy wunch of bankers:
Debts another fine mess you got us into!

If you see somone who hasn't got a smile, give them one of yours.
  • Telford town centre branch this afternoon: All sale stock piled high onto 1 long shelf and most of sale shelves now filled with suncream... After reading about the Glasgow branch reducing it's stock today I'm wondering if stores will follow suit at their manager's discretion. Think I might just pop in first thing tomorrow morning to check...!
:D Skint but happy with my lovely family :D
