Just spoke to the MD of redten on number posted by firstclassidiot. And anyone on here who said I didn't have the guts to is probably redten staff as they have been told to post and monitor within this forum - yet another underhand tactic.

What an intresting conversation.
I then rung the operations director of Clode.
Another intresting conversation.
Right for all you Redten staff reading this forum and for all the victims heres what was said.
1. Clode - it appears - will possibly hide behind "our contract is for broadband and a PC". They don't seem to realise their joint liability and the supremacy of consumer, sales, trading and other legislation over their contracts and terms and conditions of redten. But they added the caveat, reasonably, that their awaiting comment from their lawyers. They also have a meeting with Mr Gulzar shortly.
2. Mr Gulzar - I was very angry and I must say Mr Gulzar had the good grace to not hang up the phone for which I give him credit. Heres what I recall he said:
Me: We paid for unlimited bandwidth broadband service. Who decided to cap i.e. limit our broadband?
BG: We did. We wanted to find out who was downloading too much. Too many people were downloading too much and they were also downloading copyrighted material. We have taken detailed individial breakdowns of individual user's usage. Most of our customers only use 5gb or less hence the 5gb cap.
Me: I and all redten customers paid for unlimited broadband and you are now not providing that.
BG: We are simply trying to stop abuses of our service.
Me: Not all redten customers are in violation of your terms and conditions and your fair use policy and yet you have seen fit to limit their unlimited connection to 5gb per month; and you dont seem to realise that once a user exceeds this their net connection is barely usable. We dont care about your problems with BT or your worries some are downloading too much or wait their downloading - that isn't our problem. Our problem is you have stopped providing us with what we paid you for i.e. unlimited bandwidth broadband internet.
BG: If you feel that way exercise your consumer rights and leave.
Me: We can't because we would have to take on your and clode's expensive lawyers.
BG: no comment just some rambling about fair use policy.
Me: I believe you have deliberatley capped everyones service to "force" users to leave to save RT money. I think you got money from clode in advance and now your bills are too high you needed to "lose" customers.
BG: we did it to uncover who was abusing our service and because people were downloading too much.
Me: how is that our problem? how does it make you feel knowing your universal cap means diasbled people, for whom the internet is their lineline, have unsuable internet once they exceed 5gb?
BG: terrible. But we are in business to make money. And we do care.
Me: Vast amount of documentation and website archives show you have always sold unlimited broadband. You are now not providing what you sold. You also failed to notify anyone about providing a new limited service.
BG: The website is different now. We are also in talks to raise the cap to 15GB. (nb redteninternet.com has been changed within the last 48hrs).
Me: For many days noone answered the phones or emails
BG: staff are there and they are answering calls.
Me: You and the abbas family are wealthy with top lawyers and your going to hide behind them.
BG: people should exercise their rights.
I really let him have it after that trying to convey to him he is not giving us what we have paid him for, that we can't simply leave, that people whose lifeline is the net can't use the net after exceeding 5gb caps. I ended up slamming the phone down after saying your hurting innocent people and your doing it to save money and by capping everyone your no longer providing the service we all paid for i.e. an unlimited bandwidth broadband service. Get your act together.
the redteninternet.com internet site has already been changed to exclude the term unlimited broadband.
I honestly dont think he has a clue about:
[a] the fact the internet is unsuable after exceeding the 5gb limit
the fact hes not giving us what we paid for
[c] no notice re change of broadband product
[d] how redten t and c are superceded by multiple consumer, trade, sales, advertising and other laws.
[e] the suffering caused to countless people.
One touching post I read was the disabled woman who hasn't talked to anyone since exceeding her cap on day 1 (19.03.08).
Ultimatley these are rich men who don't care. And don't be fooled. This is about money and their hope that most of us will go away and if we dont the cost of settling will be far less than the cost of their original broadband bills. The worst case is they fold the company and buy the assets back from the administrators.
These people are hurting innocent people and they dont care.0 -
Phoenix - I was only joking. I a redten sucker just like youself - hence my immenent departure to Talk Talk!
Cheers for the info Re the directors though!0 -
the only thing that can force them to provide a proper service (I doubt it) or let us go is file a claim in small court.
I wait till the end of next week for them to respond on my letters and then file a claim.0 -

Phoenix - BG clearly doesn't know what he's talking bout - goes to show he doesn't really care - just as you say.
I've just looked again at the Redten website, and it's still touting their service as 8Mb unlimited. And as I've posted before - take a look at the FAQs on the site - their Fair-Use policy is still saying that 'Outside of peak hours, no restrictions apply'.
I was speaking to Consumer Direct earlier this afternoon, and mentioned this fraudulent information on their website. I was told Consumer Direct would bring this to the attention of Trading Standards0 -
I would add my phone number and full name has appeared in multiple forums so if you are a Redten exec/official its not me unless you ring me on my number to talk to me!
To see what the MD of redten had to say when I confronted him see my earlier post.
Or ring him yourself directly (he sells windows - I kid you not):

The real focus of a PR campaign must also include the abbas family.
I have also today been telephoned by a TV program intrested in the redten story and their failure [a] to provide the service we paid for the lack of notice which are both breach of contract. Will keep you posted.0 -
Guy from TV program was a fake. As I said my phone number is in some forums so he thought he'd call me!
