    Evening all

If helping Dad declutter things onto ebay and freecycle counts then I have flown if not then :o not been here to fly and it's the paid work thing tomorrow so not a lot more will get done. Plus I have a madder than usual dash around to do after work, still trying to work out logistics!

Just a quick question mid-fly, I am going to look online now but does anyone know anything about insuring engagement rings? I don't know whether house insurance covers it, will check, but it cost OH quite a bit and I would be devastated if anything happened to it.

You would need to check the small print of your policy to be certain, but usually most contents policies will cover jewellery up to a certain single article limit eg each item maximum insured £1000, sometimes with an overall limit as well. To be insured outside the home you would generally need an 'extended contents' addition to your policy. This is likely to insure all items removed from the home on a temporary basis eg when you go on holiday/trips out etc. Again limits will be specified on what and how much things are covered for. If it is a particularly expensive ring it is worth having a valuation for insurance purposes which is placed on file with your insurer. I would suggest that you take good close up pictures of the ring and keep a record of any description eg setting, metal type, number of stones so that in the event you can give an accurate description.

Taking photo's of and recording serial numbers (if applicable) of items and retaining proof of purchase is also advisable.

If you have a travel insurance policy check the wording on that as well as there may be cover on that too.

  • What a day!

Worked half day today, got home, submitted tax return and paid money owing. Went for a much needed hair cut and colour.

Got home about 5pm and spent an hour doing levels 1 and 2 - all done except cleaning the keyboard.

Dinner then back out to teach an evening numeracy class. Got home again at 9.30, made tomorrow's lunch and breakfast as well as making some yoghurt - off to bed when it's cool enough to go in its flask.

Glad every day isn't this busy - I'd never be able to cope!

    Goodnight everyone...
