    Hi folks,

Well.... after a mini disaster last night involving a home made rice pudding and the bottom of my oven :o I set to this morning and just haven't stopped!

    I have...
Taken the car to the "car doctor" Picking it up at 4pm
Done two loads of washing and hung it out to dry in the beautiful sunshine.
    Changed my bed linen.
    Cleaned the oven :(
Taken MrT to feed the ducks and then to the pet shop.
Mown the lawn.... first time this year
    Cleaned the flat

And... used a disk cleaner on my computer and it has tidied up nearly 1000 files.... and it is working much faster. I had to reinstall my wireless internet but apart from that it seems hunky dory.

The chicken wasn't very nice last night, I am afraid, so I have stripped it down and will have a risotto type dish tonight for tea.
I was going to get a bottle of vino to watch Comic Relief but I remember regretting it last week and I don't know how much the car is going to be so I have had a NSD instead :) ( I am not counting the car)

Won't be here for too long as I am off to watch the last day of the Cheltenham festival. the Gold Cup should be a great race. Kauto Star and Denman are both world class, last years winner Imperial Commander and the young pretender Long Run .... I shall be very nervous but excited at the same time.

I hope everyone is having the glorious sunshine that we have here - if not, SORRY!

    Hugs

trying to get DS ready to go out, but he is being a pain.

wish we had some sunshine. :(

and you can come and clean my oven..... lol putting that job off.

well done on all that you have achieved today. I need a day off without DS so I can achieve some stuff.

    hi SA

Lovely sunshine here too - so sad that I am sat at a desk :o Are you feeling stiff from the extra gardening exercise yesterday?

My oven needs cleaning too but ashamedly I have lost a little interest in knowing that we will be moving. I really should do it tomorrow.

    have a good weekend x

3 of the 4 horses I named filled the first three places in the Gold Cup.... I should be a tipster, and NO I didn't have a bet. I am especially thrilled because Kauto Star and Denman who came 3rd and 2nd are both 11 years of age which is OAP in racehorse terms. Absolutely brilliant. :T

I would like to make it clear here and now that I will not be cleaning anyone elses oven - it takes an awful lot of willpower for me to tackle my own but I daren't cook anything in it after the rice explosion last night.

The sun shined all day - and my car didn't need anything except the bulb replacing that I knew had blown. It will need the rear brakes and shock absorbers doing in July when it is MOT time but is fine for now. Total cost £10 - bargain - and gives me a bit of cash now.

I am fine after yesterdays creaks and aches - must have been using muscles that haven't been used for a while. MrT and I walked for 90 mins this afternoon and all seems good. I have left my car at the garage and will pick it up in the morning. MrT is so bad in the car that it was more important to walk him and I will go on my own tomorrow. More foot power, less petrol.

I hope everyone has a good evening - anyone else looking forward to Comic Relief? Fake That sounds good and Peter Kay will be brilliant, I expect.

    Dear Diary,

What a day yesterday, I picked up my car and did a little bit of shopping, cleaned the flat and cooked a nice meal, watched the tennis semi finals from Indian Wells .... and then the young couple next door who are ALWAYS arguing decided to have a real ding dong at 1am.
This is just about every night, but last night was a lot worse. She appears to be the antagonist and you can hear her swearing and winding him up for so long until he finally joins in with her. But last night was worse and she was screaming. One of the neighbours called the police and 8 of them turned up  with 3 vehicles. Talk about a commotion. MrT was going berserk both at the row and then the police. After a while two of the vehicles left and 2 officers stayed in the flat for a while and all went quiet. I didn't sleep a wink last night and ended up watching all the stuff I had recorded on Sky+. I feel like a zombie this morning.

What is it with people these days? I can't imagine anyone wanting to be in a relationship where that was going on on a daily basis. Weird, and the poor police having to come and sort it out. They must be wandering what they are going to walk into each and every time they get a call like that.

And then.... the stupid, stupid woman downstairs put a load of washing on at 6am this morning  Talk about having no respect for others - the rumbling reverberates through my flat like a concrete mixer and she knows this. They don't work, they hardly go out - so why does she need to wash at 6am and tumble dry at 10pm - Answers on a postcard please?

I know I am tired and irritable but these people do wind me up. It is such a shame becuase my flat is so nice and in a lovely location - i suppose you have to take the rough with the smooth but when it is entirely avoidable I do wonder why?

Back to a lighter note... my favourite Rafael Nadal is in the final of the tennis tonight so I am looking for ward to that - might even get a bottle of wine. I got two mini lamb joints for a fiver yesterday from MrS so am looking forward to a roast dinner later.

I was a bit shocked this morning to have to put more petrol in the car this morning after putting in £15 worth last week. It is the first time that it has genuinely hit home just how much it is costing to run a car these days. The fact that I am only £4 better off a week for working has actually been reduced to about £10 worse off once I have taken off the expenses. What a strange, mixed up benefits structure we have. :( I will just have to see how it pans out.

Not really in a very positive mood so I am going to cut it short today and try and get my happy head back on. Perhaps a bit of fresh air is called for? :)

    Hugs

If they are on Economy7 it is cheaper for them to use their washing machine and tumble dryer at off peak hours, BUT Still! have consideration for the people who live above you!

My friend said the other day she felt guilty as she had to hoover at 8am, and she lives in the top floor flat.

Hi Aesop - No she isn't on Economy7, the mediators actually asked her when they were checking out the noise. She just said that she has loads of washing! Funny how it has gone quiet now.

I know I am feeling ratty but the two families in our close that are on benefits for medical reasons(!!!) are the only ones whose heating is on all day long - you can see the steam pouring out of the boiler flues, no one else can afford it, just them. And No it isn't for health reasons. Both families are obese as well:(
It was one of my elderly neighbours that pointed it out asking how they could afford pets, big TVs and cars when she couldn't even afford to have her heating on during the day? She has a very good point - Mr Cameron, are you listening? I keep getting surveys that ask what I would say to Dave C if he turned up on my doorstep. I think I would ask him to check out the inside of my neighbours flats and give me his opinion of how the UK is doing in terms of caring for the elderly....
    God, I am miserable today...

Sweetie you are like this as you are tired. Gosh i hate horrid neighbours they should all be shot - and i am supposed to be a nice person! Can you visit a friend? go for a walk with Mr T? cook some yummy cakes? watch a good film on tv might be best as maybe you can have a sleep in the afternoon to wake up for last night? It is bright here -a little dull but still bright. I was supposed to be tutoring as i am a bit broke as i need to save more than ever now but I haven't got the strength so i am going to cancel. I dont care. I come first. You do too. When life is pants we must do cheerful things to help us. Stay strong my friend.
