    Morning everyone :)

Apologies for yesterday - I was so tired .... sw you are so sweet, never a bad word and I think the world of you for it... Thanks ;)

I watched the tennis and went to bed at 11.30pm and slept well. I also napped through the day so all is good.
I think part of the problem (and it is a problem) that I have is that when I hear domestic fighting it takes me back to my childhood with my parents and is always very upsetting. We were also bought up being told that we never had any money for anything (school trips, clothes etc) and yet my father and step mother managed to drink and smoke all through our childhoods - I know it has left me with a chip on my shoulder and it is somehting I actively work on every day to try and overcome. I make no bones about it.

Anyway, today is Monday the start of a new week and I am back to being positive... promise ;) I am only working a half day today as there is a big HA meeting this afternoon. The time off was arranged at my interview so it is expected. This is my last 3 day week for now, from next week I am full time for 6 weeks as Easter is so busy. I lose most of my hb and ct benefits :( - I am OK with that but the little niggle is that if it was permanent I would get WTC but as it is only temporary I lose out on £15 a week. I don't feel that I can say No to them as I promised I would be flexible about doing extra hours but i didn't realise it was going to be 6 weeks at a time!!! I think when Ihave been there a bit longer I can start dropping hints about upping my hours to 30 a week and then I will be able to claim WTC which would make a big difference. Any thoughts or advice, guys?

It is a lovely sunny morning here and I will be able to drag MrT out of bed and off for an hours walk before work. That's if I can wake him up. He is more like a little old man that a dog, that's for sure.

I hope everyone is well. I entered a few comps yesterday - here's hoping I win something again, my table lamp is so nice and I just love Next stuff, don't you?

More cheery from now on, I can assure you - sorry I got the grumps yesterday..... :o I don't want to scare you all off.

    Hugs

Hey how are you going to scare us off? You are doing a great job cheering MSE up. How many people read this diary to cheer up? I do. If you feel down write it I do (blooming heck i write how down i am on everyone's diaries just to make sure everyone knows:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)

It is good you have realised that you are losing out on WTC (I dont understand any of those things) and maybe after a few weeks when you feel a little more secure at work it is worth speaking about it to HR.

I hope you have fun and learn lots at the meeting today. You have so much get up and go it is great to see and very infectious.

I dont like it when people have shouties for the same reason. I am the world's biggest chicken but one day I saw a young man shouting at his wife who looked upset as they were walking down the street. Their baby was in the pram and he was distressing them. I said that there was a time and a place for debate and argument and screaming at his child and his wife in the middle of the street was not helpful to any situation and would traumatise the child in the future. Then they both started calling me racist names. I then told them about my families long tradition of fighting for the British Army despite the fact i am asian. Would you believe it they apologised and walked calmly down the street? My best friend went crackers when i told her but i think everyone is capable of thought and if we all used it the world would be a better place.

    Crazy old world isn't it?

Shakes her head at SW. Only SW! You need to be so careful in these situations SW! Good for you for telling it how it was, and thinking of the child, but these people could have been really horrible! Be careful in future PLEASE! Don't get involved again.

We have an assessor at work - a strange man entered our side of the office and was looking for someone, she quickly ushered him over to Reception and said he could have been anyone, looking for handbags left on show, easy pickings, or he could have had a knife in his pocket, not a packet of cigarettes, how am I to know? And then I thought why would sending him to Reception be any better? The Receptionist is isolated... but I suppose there is more traffic there and he would be less likely to pull a knife on her?

It is a crazy old world.

SA - you are allowed to be grumpy you know! that is the second comment I have seen today where someone apologised for being grumpy. We all have bad days and we are entitled to let off steam! Don't apologise in future. This is your diary and we are mere readers :) xx

    Morning guys,

Sorry I wasn't around while you were posting yesterday. I just can't sleep at the moment - is it the warmer weather? Am I getting a cold - sneezing lots, am I stressing (don't know why) - I just hate not being able to sleep. :( Makes me grumpy!!

The meeting went well at the HA yesterday. It was about the proposed changes to social housing being proposed by the government and it is scary. I theink there are going to be a lot of people being edged out of the social housing sector by rentals being upped to "affordable" rents - a lot higher than is normally charged. It will be OK for people on 100% HB but for others unaffordable. I am speaking as someone in the North where the HB capping wont really be applied - that will be more of a Southern issue. I just worry about where some of these current policies are pushing the country towards. As one of the executives said last night, If you are one of the well off people in the UK at the moment who don't seem to be affected by all this, OK, but he feels that we are heading to a real class divide again - a them and us situation and I agree with him. I don't think people realise just how difficult things are going to be - no job, no house, no benefits for some. Yee Gods.... :(

Back to me, another lovely sunny morning, so off for a nice walk before work. I enjoyed work yesterday, one of the others was off and I had more to get on with which certainly helped me to pick things up better. I hadn't realised just how much of the daily duties he had been getting on with and kept me out of it. We will have to start sharing a bit more - and then I will be able to improve my efficiency.

I have got a days training at the HA at the beginning of April but they are making noises about no holiday in April at work. I am not sure why as it isn't busy so I am going to have to tread carefully with that one and ask nicely :o I want to keep juggling both.

I will speak to you all later. Where are copperjar, Wordsmith, dojoman, micheH ..... drifted away, or just busy? I miss you all.
The lovely sw and Aesop are keeping me company, as always, but I like the banter when we are all here. Come back guys?

    Hugs
