I regret scoffing quite regularly but it's good while it's happening
You should complain, where a complaint is justified, not for the sake of trying to get a few free vouchers, etc, as companies are now starting to keep records of people complaining, how often, etc.
I know of someone who made false allegations just before Christmas, so they received vouchers to help with their Christmas shopping. This I disagreed with as it makes it harder for the real person who has a real reason for complaining.
I must admit I regularly complain about sub standard service or things that wrong, and I am glad that I do.
I contacted Mr S once, as I had bought a pizza there and DH said it was absolutely disgusting and he couldn't eat it. I sent them the packaging and my nectar card number, and they called me, checked the item against my nectar records, knew when I had bought it, how much I paid for it, (see they do use our information from our Nectar cards for consumer research) and refunded the cost of the pizza in nectar points :T:T
I was so pleased at their quick response.
I am still fighting with T - m0bile about their dongle that I had 2 years ago, not letting that one go.
I once wrote to a sweetie maker complimenting them on their new sweets and how much I had enjoyed them and they sent me a letter saying we are sorry you were not satisfied have some vouchers! the vouchers were for more than the sweeties in the shop!
Have you all seen this site:
http://www.consumercomplaintsforum.co.uk/shop/index.php/
forget the shop bit. It is a forum about people who need to complain or have complained and their results.
I complained to pampers once that one batch of their nappies was rubbish, as it was, and they asked me to send in the packaging, so they could check the batch and sent me vouchers before I had sent in the packaging to recompense me.

SA pleased about your Greggs win, I keep rejecting the vouchers I am winning as want the £5 voucher, and pleased Mr S came through for you. They want your custom and £10 to them is a drop in the ocean when they think about the new custom they will gain, and I am sure it is written off in their tax somehow!
Pleased you are getting better about ex texts.
Your are doing soooooo well, good to hear you being so positive.0 -
Hi everyone,
A busy morning spent giving my stuff into the HB office, all seems OK. They want the first 3 months payslips... crikey, overkill or what?
Well.... I did my mystery shop and so much for keeping a low profile - I spilt a cup of coffee all down my frontWhat a nitwit, eh? They were very good and it was totally my fault so they got a positive report.
The sun has come out at last but it is still chilly. It will have to be a brisk walk this afternoon. It is one of those days where it is nice to be warm indoors with the sun shining through the windows.
My new blinds are being fitted next Friday so it will be another busy week. Working Mon - Weds, training on Thurs and new kitchen blinds on Friday. I know it will be one of those weeks that just fly by.
I tried for the £5 Greggs voucher but got too impatient and accepted the BOGOF butty instead. I don't know if I want two butties though. The dreaded muffin top is slowly expanding.
What a saga with paypal. I bought an item on ebay and the payment server was down so I thought I would "help" things along by depositing the cash into my paypal account. So far so good, except when the server was up again I paid with paypal but it took the money directly from my bank account because the deposit was still "processing" and is STILL "processing" 6 days later! So my bank account is light of £29.95 until it clears with paypal and I can withdraw it out again. As long as I get it back by blinds day I will be OK. What a palaver.
What about the MOD paying £22 for lightbulbs  ? I think we need to send Martin in for a MSE makeover. It makes you wonder what other extraordinary amounts they are paying for basic items? Does anyone else smell "back handers"? I certainly do.
Have a good afternoon everyone.
Speak soon

Hi dojoman,
I remember a recent report on the spending by a lot of councils being ridiculously high because they were buying from all sorts of different suppliers and not going for bulk discounts, best value or even grouping purchases together. It really is horrifying and I wonder just how much money is wasted? Why is it that jobs and services are the first to go rather than the buying of supplies?

A wee aside on lightbuls.

Hi startagain
Well I eventually caught up with your diary. In only a couple of months you have little peeks and little troughs, so little you could probably say plodding along.. except the job and the lovely clean and tidy garden!
What strikes me is you come across so calm. When I say that I don't mean in the 'head in the sand' way though. What I mean is you see a problem, you plan for the problem, act on making it more easier to deal with.. I don't know whether it's the BR that does that to you or not as I am pretty much the same, well I'm proactive, not calm as I tend to have a panic. How do you rate CBT? I have a couple of issue with worrying and anxiety and wondered if this would be a better route for me. My worrying gets me down, very down and I think the doc is quick to suggest depression and really I don't think I have because within a day or two i'm fine again. Anyway.. lol
Looking forward to keeping in touch with you on your diary. Mr T sounds like a tonic
Till the next timex
