Hello ladies, glad to see all the plans are going well!
Bit of a spanner in the works this end... I've found out I am pregnant!:j:eek::j
We are really pleased, but obviously it was a bit of a shock just 6 weeks before the wedding. I don't know how far gone I am, somewhere between 4 and 8 weeks. Will hopefully get a scan before the wedding.
So my new list of problems includes ensuring my dress will still fit , thinking of a way to avoid drinking on my hen do :rotfl:and in between all of that trying to stay calm and unstressed to help the baby.0 -
Findingmyownway, congratulations, my friend found out she was pregnant before she got married aswell, she was 3wks, by 8weeks she was starting to show, she got married at 14 weeks and her dress fitted fine, she didnt have to have it re-adjusted at all so im sure you will be fine0

Congratulations finding my own way. :j Am sure the dressmaker will have plenty of suggestions for you.0

Congratulation FMOW! WHat grand (and good-scary) news!
Sorry to hear of the problems others are making for you Jalapee - flippin weddings would be lovely without guests.... I joke that when I get married for the 3rd & 4th time I won't have any guests or BMs!
My flowers arrived today! Very cute, just what I wanted.
Hen day party on 21st! We are going out for afternoon tea at a nice country hotel then posh Indian in the evening. Not so much of a hen party as a chance for a relaxing day sitting down *lol*0 -
Congrats findingmyownway, that is amazing news. I am sure the seamstress will have experience in dealing with this so try not to worry.
Jalapee- so sorry you are having such a tough time. Families can be an absolute nightmare sometimes. Your blood father sounds completely selfish and his actions are unforgiveable. Try to rise above it and not let it get you down. I wonder if your Mum and sister were trying to save you stress by getting a replacement dress- maybe they were worried you would be upset if they told you the original dress didn't fit so by finding one that fitted they were helping you out? While I can see why you are upset- they obviously should have spoken to you about and let you decide what to do eg if the original dress could be altered, or if not then you should have been involved with choosing a replacement, it is done now and not worth getting stressed over. You will be the focal point on the day and I bet the vast majority of guests won't even notice about the bridesmaid dresses.
How are your plans going Hadley? I flit from being excited and clam to manic and panicking about how much there is left to do!0 -
Hi Tiara - how was your Hen?? Any photos??? Hope you had a  or two.
I'm like you. One minute so excited the next so stressed and down. So much left to do. A lot of the time I find myself going round in circles. :T0 -
ive just made a to do list for the 12th July holidays we get in NI. I finish work today until 16th July, so plenty of time to get through my list. This is what I need to do:
- send a draft for order of service
- organise table / seating plan
- post BM colour sample to cake lady & final payment
- ring car company with colour of ribbon, flowers & tell where we are stopping for photos
- confirm a few surname spellings for place cards
- decide on table names
- organise final suit fitting for the men
- email florist with colours of grandparents buttonhole & final table numbers & payment
- decide on music from string quartet & final payment
- first dance, BM dance, father of the bride songs for the band to play
I have insurance in place but I would rather settle the balance after the meal - we have paid a £500 deposit.
What would you guys do?
TIA x0
