Hi ladies, Findingmyownway invited me over here so just thought I'd pop on and say hello! I'm getting married on 21st August in New York!! All very exciting!
We only got engaged on 21st April so all a bit of a whirlwind but just the way we like it!!
Pretty much got everything sorted out including venue, outfits, rings, photographer, flowers and meal - its only the two of us heading out there so really simple!

Had a slight disaster with my engagement ring today but hopefully once that's sorted then it wont be too stressful!!!

I'm on another wedding forum and the countdown said I had less than 7 weeks to go to the big day - now that's pretty scary stuff!!!!!

    it's getting close now!!!
i have my first dress fitting next week!

my engagement ring has been sent off to be re dipped (it's white gold)
the suits are nearly sorted, i just have to source 1 more jacket

i just need under wear for me and my hair trial. plus a few little bits to sort. nothing major.

    8.5 weeks and i'll be a MRS!!!
  • 5 weeks today!

Dress hasn't arrived yet but contigency plans in place...

Everything is more or less sorted - not bad given we only started organising in April this year!

just saw joolzred's post above and had an OMG moment that it might be 5 weeks away......then realised that cos mine is on the 26th August that I do have more like 8 weeks, thank god! gosh it is getting close though!
still havent got all my r.s.v.p's in yet, we've got 42 out of 70 so far, though we know a few people cant make it, so I'm making a few more invitations so we can invite those on the 'reserve list'!
still havent found a hairdresser yet :( but on the upside my sister did a smaller trial version of our cupcake stand and and they were uber yummy and very pretty, so one less thing to worry about :)

what kind of service are u having? im having church service so can send u pics of mine via email and i also have pics of a catholic one i did for someone.
  • Shoes! I need the dress to arrive so I can get comfy & hopefully pretty shoes to go with it!

I will probably get an online order from Dune, Debenhams etc & hope the returns get back safely... Anyone have any tips? I have to have flat or almost flat shoes with straps (disability affects leg & foot) so think normal bridal shops won't be much good.

My wedding has been organised almost totally using online resources, how I managed it 1st time in 1997 I don't know! From invitation printing, to emailing our lovely local vicar, to ordering all the clothes, flowers, receiving RSVPs, arranging Hen do etc.

I love the internet almost as much as my future hubby!

Agree with the Crest Whitestrips, perfect for getting white teeth before a wedding! I managed to get some from Whitestrips4u.co.uk as recommended review above, and they are brilliant. We are seeing a big difference for the big day! And for the price you can not go wrong.

Good luck all. Only a few months until i marry my girl so always reading up on hints/tips to make her life easier.. Good reading here :)
