I'm in Burton on Trent. Fortunately, we do have a receipt of the deposit paid!! I'm sure all will be fine, but I am just out of my mind with worry now! We got such a good deal, the prices are really reasonable too.
Thats good that u have proof so i should imagine all will be ok,it would be wrong of them to continue with a wedding booked after u but on the same day especially as u have proof of the date etc

Thats fine! I dont mind paying £50 up front if I can get the dress I want! I might just have to book the day off work!

You sound really well prepared- so glad you got a signed contract from them. It would be horrendous if they just denied all knowledge of your booking and you had no proof

Will be thinking of you tomorrow, let us know how it goes.

Btw, have just googled the dress you've got your eye on, and it is really beautiful- the style is very different and I love how it is layered at the front. You can tell straight away that it must be pricey though. Are second hand ones not much cheaper?

Thanks Tiara, I cant believe it really. It was something totally unrelated to the wedding that I emailed them about! They have another venue, which I will be utilising if there is a problem! If it is all ok and we are still booked in, I will be requesting some discount or other!!! I have all the emails saved in my email account, thank goodness, so I will be taking my laptop with me tmrw and making sure that they are still providing everything that they were at the same prices!! We never had a signed contract or t's& c's until I asked for them. Fortunately, I have a contract, signed by them, which they probably havent got a copy of, but I have! We are going to go in on Saturday and not say anything until they tell us what they think we are having!

I dont know what I am going to do with the birdcage yet, Probably have flowers in it on the top table or some other decoration. I was surprised how big it was! I was going to get some smaller ones for the rest of the tables, but I think they are a bit small. I would love to have candelabras, but at £20 each, I cant justify it!!

When it comes to my table plan, i have pretty much sorted it, we are only having 50, so its not so bad. If anyone drops out (and tbh, it will probably be OH's family and I really couldnt care less if they come or not!) I have already said to various people who I cant have at the daytime do, that they will be 'bumped up'. I think some of my work colleagues are quite surprised they arent coming to the day do, but we cant have more than 50 in the room where we are getting married and cant afford to feed more than that!!

Thanks Hadley, I too have everything crossed!!!

Up at stupid o'clock this morning because I cant sleep for worrying!!

I have been looking in various places for a second hand dress, prices usually from around 700, so too far out of my price range! I'm hoping that by the end of this year/beginning of next, the prices will start to come down as the newer dresses from this year start to get put on ebay etc. there are a couple of dresses similar in style, so if I cant get the exact one, I will try my best to get one like it. I do love that dress tho!!

ps thanks for your support everyone! will update as soon as I have been later on this morning.

Wow you've done loads- way more than me :o Do you mind if I be nosey and ask what favours you're having? I can't make up my mind what to go for, it seems impossible to pick something that everyone will like- maybe I just have very picky guests!

What colour bridesmaids dresses are you going for? I can't decidwe on a colour so far (are you seeing an indecisive theme here lol)

Hi Tiara, for our favours we are just doing little organza bags filled with sweets, you can't always please everyone, we wanted to do something cheap, we looked into almonds but they worked out quite expensive so that why we are doing dolly mixtures, it ties in with our colour scheme (fuschia pink organza bags) and also the dolly mixtures tie in with our cupcakes which are going to be decorated with buttercream and then dolly mixtures :-)
As for the bridesmaid dresses they are fushia pink, but they are really nice and elegant looking! When I tell people I am having pink they automatically think it's gonna be tacky but it's not lol xx
