But the manager of the bar didn't really have a clue and I was not impressed how website said one price and he shown me something else. I used to be a bar manager and I was asking him questions and he didn't know. But I think I have made my choice...... So hope will put a deposit down this weekend. I cannot believe how this wedding is making me seem addicted to it. But I am gonna enjoy it.... X0

Thanks for adding me to the group, we have booked the church and venue so far and also bought a few little bits n bobs like favours, invitations and place table cards (bargains in the sale!) going dress shopping in 2 weeks time to have a look with my mum, I have found the bridesmaid dresses I want just waiting for them to come back into stock!0

Wow you've done loads- way more than me
Do you mind if I be nosey and ask what favours you're having? I can't make up my mind what to go for, it seems impossible to pick something that everyone will like- maybe I just have very picky guests!
What colour bridesmaids dresses are you going for? I can't decidwe on a colour so far (are you seeing an indecisive theme here lol)Thanks for adding me to the group, we have booked the church and venue so far and also bought a few little bits n bobs like favours, invitations and place table cards (bargains in the sale!) going dress shopping in 2 weeks time to have a look with my mum, I have found the bridesmaid dresses I want just waiting for them to come back into stock!0 -
Well we have booked the venue, but when I emailed the wedding planner to check something last week, I had a response back from someone else saying 'L has now left and we dont have a record of your wedding'. !!!!!!!!!!!
We are meeting with the NEW WP tmrw to check everything out and make sure that we are still able to have the wedding there! Its only THE most popular day of the year for weddings, so it had better be! I could cry! Got the STD done, admittedly free from Vistaprint, but maddening none the less. I sat and cried my eyes out after I had spoken to them.
Besides that, I have got my bridesmaid dress (only having 1), bought some fairy lights in the Tesco sale, bought a 'tree' from John Lewis for messages, bought my table plan and stand, large ivory birdcage and table numbers from confetti in their sale (which I have just had another email about - half price sale again!!!!).
I know the dress I WANT - Ronald Joyce Livia - but I cant even afford a second hand one, let alone a new one!!Married the absolute love of my life on Sunday May 6th and I couldnt be happier!!!0 -
Oh BLUis, what a nightmare. I'm keeping everything crossed for you that they still have your date available. Have you got any emails/ letters from your original WP stating the date and what you agreed to?
On the plus side, at least this has come to light now, so you have plenty of time to pick another date or another venue if needs be- it could have been so much worse if you weren't being proactive and emailing them- imagine if it didn't come to light until just a couple of months before the wedding :eek:
If the date has been taken then hopefully they would give you some discount/ freebies on an alternative date? Keeping my fingers crossed for you- do let us know how it goes.
What are you doing with the birdcage? I think they look so different and would be a good contrast as our venue has very dark wooden tables/ walls etc, so they could make nice decorations, but I'm unsure what to do with them. Are you putting flowers in them?
Thanks also for the tip about the table plan, I will take a look as I'm very unsure how we will do ours (am already panicking about ppl cancelling at the last minute or just not turning up and having massive gaps in the seating plan!!)Well we have booked the venue, but when I emailed the wedding planner to check something last week, I had a response back from someone else saying 'L has now left and we dont have a record of your wedding'. !!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Tiara, I cant believe it really. It was something totally unrelated to the wedding that I emailed them about! They have another venue, which I will be utilising if there is a problem! If it is all ok and we are still booked in, I will be requesting some discount or other!!! I have all the emails saved in my email account, thank goodness, so I will be taking my laptop with me tmrw and making sure that they are still providing everything that they were at the same prices!! We never had a signed contract or t's& c's until I asked for them. Fortunately, I have a contract, signed by them, which they probably havent got a copy of, but I have! We are going to go in on Saturday and not say anything until they tell us what they think we are having!
I dont know what I am going to do with the birdcage yet, Probably have flowers in it on the top table or some other decoration. I was surprised how big it was! I was going to get some smaller ones for the rest of the tables, but I think they are a bit small. I would love to have candelabras, but at £20 each, I cant justify it!!
When it comes to my table plan, i have pretty much sorted it, we are only having 50, so its not so bad. If anyone drops out (and tbh, it will probably be OH's family and I really couldnt care less if they come or not!) I have already said to various people who I cant have at the daytime do, that they will be 'bumped up'. I think some of my work colleagues are quite surprised they arent coming to the day do, but we cant have more than 50 in the room where we are getting married and cant afford to feed more than that!!Oh I have everything crossed for you - let me know what happens
Thanks Hadley, I too have everything crossed!!!Married the absolute love of my life on Sunday May 6th and I couldnt be happier!!!0 -

A friend of mine booked her wedding and to found out that the co-ordinator was no longer there, turned out she had been sacked.she had pocketed all my friends money there was no record off the booking, the venue was very compliant and allowed her the date she thought she had booked and she had to pay no more.
Where abouts are you?0 -
