Hi, I'm sorry but I'm defecting to a July thread - my date is now in July! Sorry everyone but no doubt I'll see you around on various other threads. Best of luck x

Ive only gone and got my dress
Popped into 3 bridal shops in town today, one didnt have much in and only 2 dresses my size which i didnt like,so went to another 2 and u could see they was posh dress shops and the prices were over £600 so was getting a bit disheartened when they told me id struggle to find a dress for that price and because of my height (4ft10) anyway i decided id go to a fourth dress shop as i felt a bit peeved i couldnt find anything in my range, this shop has loads of dresses, anyway theres start again at £600+ they had 2 rails though full of sale stuff so had a nosey through and pulled one out that was stunning,a size 10 and only £300 instead of £600.arranged to go back to down at 4 with my sis and try it on and its gorg,i knew there and then it was the one.she has knocked me another £50 off as its a zip back and woulnt do all the way up cos of my bust so will need a lace up back which my mums best friend can do as she is a seamstress
Really wanted my mum there but i said to her if she had of come and down and then we went shopping i may not have found anything but i popped in here spur of the moment for some ideas on pricing and ended up finding my dress,so mum will come down in the next few weeks and see it

Have you got any pics of the dress?
It sounds like it was just meant to be- I'm sure your Mum will be thrilled you've found your perfect dress for such a bargainous price :D

sjrobson- you're welcome :) Good luck with meeting the Revd, hope that goes really well.

sickasachip- best of luck with your plans for July my dear :)

adnur- nice to see you on here :) I'm not organised at all, if that makes you feel any better :o:rotfl: Still haven't chosen a colour scheme yet and can't get on with save the dates or flowers or bridesmaid dress etc until we do!

Hadley- hellooo *waves* not decided anything at all on colours. Being indecisive is such hard work!! How are things with you?

Venue hunting so far..... Tried loads of places and narrowed down to 3. Just come back from one of them and the place was lovely.... But the manager of the bar didn't really have a clue and I was not impressed how website said one price and he shown me something else. I used to be a bar manager and I was asking him questions and he didn't know. But I think I have made my choice...... So hope will put a deposit down this weekend. I cannot believe how this wedding is making me seem addicted to it. But I am gonna enjoy it.... X

Searching through pics of dresses to try and find a photo of your dress can be risky, as there is the chance that you may find something you prefer  I've also got my dress, and have had to ban myself from looking at any others, just in case! It's a shame though as I really enjoy looking at the pretty dresses lol

Your Mum sounds fab, I'm so pleased she's excited for you and not miffed she wasn't there at the time :)

Have you decided if you want a veil and/or tiara yet?

We found that a number of venues we looked at had out of date prices on their website, which is really unhelpful. In fact, a golf club we went to see had a 2007 price list on their website, and when they gave us their updated prices there was a huge increase- not impressed at all with that!

That bar manager doesn't sound very helpful :( Good luck with making your final decision and putting down a deposit- starts to make it feel a bit more real then :D

I know what you mean about wedding planning being addictive- I go through phases of getting really into it, and then take a break for a few weeks so I don't get too bogged down with it all- afterall, it is just one day, and we'll have had just over 2 years of being engaged, so I think it would be too much for me doing planning every day! So far it's been quite fun but no doubt there will be some less fun bits to tackle like deciding who to leave off the guest list and sorting out a seating plan where guests are least likely to kill each other :rotfl:
