I am getting really stressed out now! Grooms parents don't like my new venue:mad: They have booked another with a marquee! I have told them I want my £400 back which they say they will give me. I think Mum is trying t:mad: compete with two of her sisters who's daughters have recently had HUGE weddings.
I'd rather they gave the money to DD, after all the two have been living together for 5 years and have a 13 month old baby!:rotfl:

Still, managed to find vases for tables yesterday. Most of the planning done. I'm opting out :rotfl:of the Reception! Hope everyone else is managing okay. Have put in a claim from the Wedding Insurance for my original £100 deposit.
    I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Hi everyone, we're getting married 31st August 2012. We signed the marriage banns document yesterday, I'm so excited! I hope that all your planning is going well. I've been working on a fairly elaborate spreadsheet to organise everything #whatageek#

Oh everything, but I'll change my mind a thousand times before the big day! We're going for a kind of old Victoriana country fete theme, including lots of Hendricks gin and top hats :) We've booked the church and are discussing costs with the reception venue and photographer but hope to have those firmed up this weekend. We're plotting the honeymoon itinerary now too so we know how much to budget. Can't wait!

    Ooooh tell me more!
Are you having certain colours or a theme? I am struggling with this so any ideas would be fab!

It is NEVER too early to get going with wedding prep! :rotfl:As long as you've got somewhere to keep it all until your big day then definitely get crafting while you've got the time :D

That sounds fab- that sounds a wonderful theme, and I love the top hats!

You sound just like me, changing your mind all the time. In some ways, it is a shame to only (hopefully!) get the one wedding, as there are so many different colour schemes and themes etc I would love to do. In other ways it is just so stressful that I am already saying I never want to have to organise another party ever again!

My theme is basically summer brights as our reception is in a marquee in a field and I am terrified of rain! So if it does rain I want it to be really cheery nonetheless. Think cerise, lime green, turquoise, yellow, orange- all against the white backdrop of the marquee. Which will be white. It's my mate's parents' and I think it could do with a scrub up!:rotfl:

Re: a shame to only have 1 chance to plan a party, I am so going to have big parties for the rest of my life! Vow renewals, anniversaries, birthdays... all with different themes and coloured table runners!:T
