Hi everyone,
We are getting married in 18th Feb 2012. Seems a few of you are as well.
I do feel very behind everyone else!
So far I have;
Sent out invitiations (made my own, only cost about £10 as had some of the stuff already, postage was the most expensive bit!)
Booked venue and paid deposit - we are having the same place for ceremony and reception
Booked registra - well called up and paid the 50 odd pounds to reserve the date
got samples of things for making my own flowers and other decorations
Caterers booked - just need to decide what to choose!
Someone in the family has offered to do the photos, bit worried about this but should save some money!
Decided on dark purple as our theme colour
Still have loads to do!!
Help, is there anything I have missed that I should have already done etc?
What do I need to do next! Can't remember the last wedding I went to probably when I was about 10!
also anyone else worried about the snow, my mum is convinced that no one will be able to make it and we will all be snowed in!!! By the way we live down south in Hampshire, so not exactly an area that gets hit really bad!0 -
I have thought about the snow issue - however thinking back, it is more likley to snow Dec/Jan, and if it does in Feb I dont think it will heavy. At least thats what I keep telling myself. I think last year it was quite a wet Feb.
BUT saying that, I was talking to the OH and we were kinda hoping for a light snow covering as it will make the grounds where we are getting married look awesome!
Sounds like you have the main bits sorted - registra and venue been quite important lol!
What are you doing for the evening? If you are thinking of a DJ looking sooner rather than later would be better - however with it been a Feb wedding I dont think you will have too much of an issue finding somebody0 -
Updated first post with dates0

ooops think I may have been responding to this thread without having let anyone know my date. I'm on the 18th as well.
Lucieee - Have you looked into your dress yet, unless you get one off ebay or off the peg, the majority of shops require a few months to get the dress in.
I think snow would make everything picturesque, though we're getting married in a hotel down country lanes, so have got wedding insurance incase.
Have sent out day invitations and have 5 yes replies and one 1 no so far. So looking good.0 -

We're getting married on the 18th Feb, also having dark purple as our colour theme and we live in Hampshire!
Lol
But we are hoping for snow! We originally wanted to get married in Austria in a small chapel in the mountains we had seen when we'd been away snowboarding but my Aunt who has to be there can't fly due to health reasons
So we're hoping for Snow. Our venue is slightly out in the sticks but our venue said they had 18 weddings last Dec when the weather was really bad and all weddings went without a hitch. So fingers crossed we will get our white wedding after all!Turning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!0 -
oh yeah a DJ might be quite important to book!!! kind of leaving it a bit late as I'm not 100% sure we want one?? Just sent a few people I know messages to see if they can help with that one!
Do you really have to get a dress that much in advance - I keep putting this to the bottom of my list thinking I could get it in the new year, and maybe lose a bit more weight before then!!!!
snow would be nice in moderation, we live near the top of quite a steep hill and are getting married even higher up it!!!
sharpee - quite a few things in common with our weddings so far then! We have butterflies as our theme as well as purple. Are you getting married locally as well?
Only sent our invites out end of last week and already heard back from 8 people (well family groups so more than 8 people really!). Everyone seems to love the handmade invites, its made me want to make more things - just about to make wine glass charms tonight!0 -
Luciee Yes we're getting married locally.
Just had our menu tasting tonight it was all gorgeous as you wouls expect with an establishment with 2AA Rosettes. I was panicing as we couldn't decide what to choose but when the chef came out afterwards to talk to us he siad the guests could choose off the menu! We are going to limit it to 3 choice per course to keep it simple but the chef said its our Wedding and we can have what we want.
So glad we chose this venue as they seem to be bending over backwards for us :T
Although on the drive there tonight in the dark realised how remote the venue is and started getting worried about snow
Bridesmaid dress and tiara shopping tomorrow and saturday I am finally going to order all the stuff to make our Invites.
Luciee - I can't believe how laid back you are being about your dress! I guess that you are going for something off the peg and not direct from a Bridal shop?Turning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!0 -
Well this weekend I have my stag do as well as my 28th birthday - I can see me been a right mess! It does not really help that I don't drink much - maybe 4-5 times a year I will actualy drink - mostly on a camp site at a raceway in Stratford, 120 miles from home lol!
Decided to have them early as any later in the year people start having their bank accounts drained with crimbo and new year... But will be having a "quiet" night out closer to the date0
