February 2012 Brides and Grooms

Hi everyone,
We are getting married in 18th Feb 2012. Seems a few of you are as well.
I do feel very behind everyone else!
So far I have;
Sent out invitiations (made my own, only cost about £10 as had some of the stuff already, postage was the most expensive bit!)
Booked venue and paid deposit - we are having the same place for ceremony and reception
Booked registra - well called up and paid the 50 odd pounds to reserve the date
got samples of things for making my own flowers and other decorations
Caterers booked - just need to decide what to choose!
Someone in the family has offered to do the photos, bit worried about this but should save some money!
Decided on dark purple as our theme colour
Still have loads to do!!
Help, is there anything I have missed that I should have already done etc?
What do I need to do next! Can't remember the last wedding I went to probably when I was about 10!
also anyone else worried about the snow, my mum is convinced that no one will be able to make it and we will all be snowed in!!! By the way we live down south in Hampshire, so not exactly an area that gets hit really bad!
Iam starting to worry about snow! We are getting married in the North West and the weather seems a bit mild at the momment, thinking we may have winter a bit latter than last year:eek:MAR GC /£346

hhmm didnt this happen last year though, and them boom, a whole bucket load of snow dropped from the sky in the matter of minutes!
But in the NW area we are mostly sheltered from really bad weather most of the time by the pennines - it usualy skirts right past us. If you look at the satilite images from last year, the entire country was covered in snow, appart from the NW!
At the end of the day, there is not much you can do about the weather any time of the year - it could pour it down in summer. Just turn it around and make it work for you. I am actualy hoping for a bit of snow as it will make the area around where we are getting married look awesome and we will get some really good photos.0 -
True snow would look great! From that side of thing I'd love it to snow as long as we can get there 1st! We are getting married at Eaves Hall in the Ribble Valley and we live 40 mins away! The chef has been known to cart people up the hill in his 4 wheel drive before now, which would be hilarious!MAR GC /£346

I'm not worrying about the weather as yet and I'm getting married outside in Scotland!! I'm sure we can adapt to the weather on the day and four wheel drives should be available.
I'm sitting patiently at home today waiting on my wedding ring! Only dress to find now and that should be us all sorted for the day.Married 29th Feb 2012 :beer:Determined to lose lbs and save £'s30 day shred started 4th June 2012 - Days completed 15 :eek:0 -

Suppose it quite a wintery colour though and I think I may actually finally be getting excited about the big dayMarried 29th Feb 2012 :beer:Determined to lose lbs and save £'s30 day shred started 4th June 2012 - Days completed 15 :eek:0 -

Hi Folks, I've been lurking for a while, watching with interest.
Do you mind if I join you? We're getting married on 12.2.12.
Most things done (at least provisionally), going to give notice on Monday.
Have you all sent invitations out yet? We've let most people know the date and were thinking of sending the proper invites out in Jan, so that they don't get mixed up / lost with all the christmas cards.0 -
Hello and welcome lazarou_true.
I'm all organised now, just need to have meeting with celebrant which this afternoon and then registry office next week.
I haven't done invites as will only be ten of us on the actual day but having a party in May. I like your idea of waiting till after Christmas with invites especially when people already know the date.Married 29th Feb 2012 :beer:Determined to lose lbs and save £'s30 day shred started 4th June 2012 - Days completed 15 :eek:0 -

Really need to get cracking polishing and learning the speech.... not that there is much point as chances are I will just forget with stage fright! Backup plan is cue cards... backup plan if the backup plan fails, print out the entire lot and just read it from the page!
Really REALLY dislike public speaking!0
