I thought we were quite organised as February is still 8 months away, but after having a catch up through this we're not, but then we are doing some things backwards, e.g. we already have our rings and the mjority of presents for attendants, but flowers and suits not arranged.
We have my dress, that was easy, the bridesmaids are proving harder, have tried on so many in so many shops, but nothing thats perfect in the right colour.
Anyone else struggling with a certain part of their arrangements?

the only thing we are having issues with is flowers - but i am leaving that to the OH... but even she is getting stuck with it!

Although its 8 months away - for at least 2 months is going to be manic as it will be the run up to crimbo and new year, then the aftermath from that - and thats VERY close to the wedding once thats all calmed down! Also watching a couple of mates get married recently, some things were left quite late and just made a lot of stress. We are getting things booked (flowers are the last thing now!) then we can start to work on the finer detail - like DJ booked but no music planned, suit hire sorted but I think im going to change the colour of the waistcoat, cakes ordered but need to sort out designs on the top of cakes.... i defo want to try and get everything moslty "bolted down" before we go into 2012!
  • I have booked the venue, I have no dress, we are christening the kids at the same time, which is ok as it is a blessing not a wedding. The church isn't booked. So you are all doing very well, oh and hubby has just lost his job so I don't know how we are going to pay for it either - whoops

Wow. Everyone seems so organised. So far we have booked the celebrant and I have organised to go dress shopping with my witness but not till August!! Though our wedding is very small but having big party a few months later.
Goodlife wannabes sorry to hear about hubby losing job.

  • thanks laaljocky, I'm trying to be optamistic on the job front. Decided yesterday to hold of dress shopping until later in the year as dresses are all summery atm and it will be very cold where we are in Feb. Not having a traditional wedding dress, didn't the 1st time either. Actually have no idea on the dress. There were 5 people at our wedding (9 yrs ago) which is why we are having a big do now. We were living overseas and feel like everyone missed out but combining it with a christening now. Good luch on the weight loss, I have a long way to go there.

OH has been working on the table decorations today and more or less got the list together of what we need and where from.

She also went to sort out flowers and has got a quote coming through sometime next week!

I am also hunting down a number of old college mates - completly lost contact but would like for them to come if they can - so far found 1 out of 4 people - just awaiting for him to contact us. One other person has been partialy tracked - at at least - his more recent whereabouts so it a matter of tracking him from there! Joys!

Includes... suit jacket, trousers, white shirt, waistcoat, ruche, cuff links

Got them from a local Greenwoods - they do the 1860.com hire stuff and there was a 20% offer on a few weekends back. They are doing a 10% off at the moment for online hire.

We also only hired 5 sets - if you get 6, the grooms hire is free.
