hey thats awesome, we are having a free bar so we have spend the last week getting the cheap wine deals from Tesco, we saved a fortune, my OH designed a wine label with a message to our guests on it and they look really good with our names and date on them too.

we have booked the venue, photographer (uncle is doing it for free), cake (mum is doing it for free), wedding cars (another uncle is driving us), food, and ordered my dress too, we are just loving all the planning and coming up with ideas to save money

Bit of an update... a little inspiration was gained from been at a close mates wedding yesterday.... now theirs is done - ours can really begin to count down and roles can be reversed :)

So... wedding rings were ordered last weekend and should be available next week to collect - I know its ubar early but we liked them so much, and the price was right we decided to go for them rather than risk them been removed from sale...

DJ was booked a few months ago - however this is where the inspiration has come from! We have booked a DJ who is able to supply up lighting and the original signed deal was for them to start at 7pm for the evening... however I am now thinking that we may want the uplighters for the wedding breakfast - and maybe the ceremony itself. I have fired off an email asking to see how much extra it would cost...

Cakes are been sorted - deposit paid and we have an idea of what we want - will work on the finer detail closer towards the date.

Favors - We are looking into donating money to Cancer Research on behalf of the guest - the OH found out about this not so long back - in memory of her dad who suddenly and unexpectedly passed away late last year due to cancer.

Flowers - We have *no* idea what so ever with this one... so I am leaving this mostly to the OH to organise with me just given the "ok" lol. She got a couple of contacts that she will go and speak to - but she is going to wait until her bridesmaid is back in the country in the next month or so...

and with just over 8 months to go - I should maybe start looking for suits!

Hi all, long time lurker. We are getting married 18th Feb 2012. Twelve years to the day since we met. Meant to be a low cost, low key wedding as all our cash is going on the honeymoon. Registry office at noon, immediate family for a meal and a party in the local community centre at night.

Feel a bit old for all the traditional wedding, but as I didn't have a wedding dress first time round, I'm thinking I want one now. Might be different and go for burgandy or something colourful rather than ivory. Thinking I may opt for a dress from China, but we'll see. Need to build up the courage to go and try on dresses to see what style suits me.

Booked the honeymoon first before we sorted out anything else.

    Really looking forward to it.

Going to try on wedding dresses tomorrow. Think my sister in law is more excited than I am. Maybe feel better once I'm there, at least I'm hoping to get some idea of type of dress and colour to go for. Wish me luck.

Hope your all getting more organised than I am. Did contact a few DJ's this week, so hoping to get that booked soon. Just keep thinking that Feb is ages away, but it seems to be creeping ever closer. xx

I have just tweaked our DJ - we are now having uplights installed during the day in the room for the wedding breakfast - should set the room up really nice.

Just organised to go into town in the morning to try on some suits. They were already reasonably priced but they are doing a 20% discount weekend so jumping at the chance!

and got he shock of my life when we went to see a balloon supplier on thurs - its looking like they want £75 for just a few balloons dotted around the place. And the cheek of them asking for a £30 deposit BEFORE they even gave us the price!.. Looking around, it looks like we can do it ourselves for around £35... thats the hellium, baloons and the stuff you put inside the balloon to keep then inflated for longer! Will give the other half something to do on the night as well (she is staying over at the hotel where we are getting married the night before)

Hi everyone, just a quick update on the first wedding dress hunt.
It went a lot better that I thought it would. In fact I would even say I enjoyed it. After trying on several, I had decided what type I felt good in. I did find a dress that I really liked, but it was plus size dress and the amount of the dress and the cost of alterations, was more that I had planned to spend. so now I just need to find something similar but cheaper.

If anyone knows of a dress that looks like a Sincerity + 4518, but in a UK 12/14, please let me know. xx
