Might as well start one as its now only "next year"

We have booked the venue for the 24th Feb (Friday) - although not doing much else until we have confirmed the registrar... saying that tomorrow we are going to a wedding fayre in Bolton to get some ideas and prices so we can tweak our budget!

    Thanks :)

The venue is in Preston, a place called Bartle Hall... I did do some computer networking for them in a previous job and remembered the place when we were looking around!

Only thing we have done so far is made lists, done a bit of thinking of what we would like and rough costs.. I asked my best man weekend just gone, and also usher (both my brothers)...

Role on 24th Feb this year once we have registra booked and things should really get rolling!

:D Good Luck with the preps. Bartle Hall looks amazing. Just had a peek! Wish I knew what I wanted for my wedding and be as organised as you!

Its not long now though, be soon FEB 2012! :)
  • Congrats for Feb 2012 :)

Feb seems to be a quiet month 4 weddings - oh well, hopefully we will get better deals ;) but where a wedding's concerned that doesn't really seem possible.

    Oh well, I for 1 can't wait til Feb 2012 :):)

well today was another big step forward.. booked the registrar this morning for 2pm... its a bit more real now, esp as its now "less than 1 year away" as such!
Just need to sort out the insurance, the OH is going dress shopping with her mum tomorrow... budget has gone up by another grand though as small additional costs keep working their way out of the woodwork.. like this morning we got charged the £25 admin fee as expected, they told us about the £300 fee for their attendance... but we were not aware that there was a £67 charge for us to go and give notice!!

Does seem like every where you mention weddings there seems to be loads of additional charges or the price doubles!

Well the OH went out yesterday, found her dress and gave me the news on how much it cost lol

    £150!!!

It was last seasons, and was reduced from something like £900! Although I am happy that she went for it because she loved it rather than the price. They did say though that she had left it a little late to start looking but she was lucky she found one so soon, already in stock and just needs a tiny bit of adjustment! I would have thought 12 months would have been more than enough!

Sorting out the insurance today now we have the docs through from the council regarding giving notice and confirmation of the provisional booking... our poor bank account lol

We're planning on getting married Feb 2012 although we're still to book the venue.

    So excited!

So far we have booked the photographer and the DJ. DJ is also supplying room uplighting which should really give the place a good atmosphere.... OH is currently arranging chair covers and table decorations which will then set the colour scheme in stone... all currently within budget - somethings more and some things less than planned... 11 months 3 days to go...!

Oh and we go to give notice in a couple of week as well!

Great stuff :) - when for?

Bit of iffy news yesterday - found out that the wedding shop the OH has bought her dress from has gone into liquidation - the dress was paid off in full and was been stored there. IT sounds like that the dress was taken to the managers house due to storage limitations so it looks as though we will be getting it back.. otherwise its going to be a battle, saying that as the item has been fully paid for and they were just stgoring it, should not be too much of an issue...
