Sorry if this has already been mentioned but woolies are doing loads of single retro sweets from 10p each - brought back some happy memories. :D They are also doing hobby/tool boxes with clear perspex lids for £2.99 - I think they had about 16 compartments.

Not connected to this post but I know someone was interested in finding tiny baubles not much bigger than a malteser - guess what, woolies have these too ! I honestly don't work for this company and we don't even have a woolies in my city but I had to trot off to a little market town today and they have a lovely woolworths.

Back to this post, if you can't find any hobby boxes for your sweets, how about using a clear/coloured perspex box file or document file - one of the ones with the popper or zip to keep it shut. I love this retro sweets thread but couldn't see how my OH would like another tool box until I saw the box files.;)

    Hope this helps

I was going to take over the world but got distracted by something sparkly.......
  • Thought I would bump this up with a picture of my sweetie box I have made for my mum... It's all her favourites!

I have definately been running out of ideas for christmas this year and this was a great idea... I know she's going to love it...

I have made three of these boxes for my bro-in-law, and two friends, I got the sweeties from woolies and the boxes from Asda, I still need a few sweeties to fill up with but my local post office has some of the sour sweeties that are only 5p each and possibly some of the retro sweeties that I didn't manage to get my hands on in woolies :-). This is a great idea and I think I'll be doing other baskets next year as the prepackaged ones from the shops either look cheap and nasty or cost way too much. Cheers for the excellent ideas and inspirational piccies :) :j :santa2:

If anyone's planning to make these this year, my local Hobbycraft has a sign up outside saying that their multi-compartment craft storage boxes are half price.

Anyone seen any of these boxes lately?
Am going to stock up on the boxes and fill with sweets nearer Christmas.

I just went to my local haberdashery (sp) shop and bought a cotton box holder it only cost me about £2.50.

I did also see some lovely little boxes with 3 drawers in my local £1 shop those would make lovely sweetie boxes.
  • Just back from working at ASDA, They didnt have anything that looked like the craft boxes. Shame. I wanted to get stocked up. I'll keep my eyes peeled though and report back if i spot any! Dont wanna pay a fortune for them.
