Why not put the sweets in little bags and throw them into a gift box or basket ...see my previous post with almost complete basket!0

I have made two of these boxes, one with traditional sweeties like dolly mixtures and liqourice allsorts and one chocolate themed with maltesers, smarties etc. Today after lunch me and the kids started to eat them:rotfl:
To be honest I was a bit worried about them keeping fresh and I have to say that some were not quite as nice as they should have been, not that it stopped us eating them!
Anyway, my advice would be to do these at the last minute if you are not using wrapped sweets or little bags, so that the sweets stay fresh.
I will refill mine nearer chrimbo.
Thanks for all the great ideas, I love this thread.:beer:0 -
wish you had said earlier as I have just finished mine!!
and worried they won't taste too good now. Maybe if I get them wrapped up asap that might help

I managed to get 2 boxes from hobbycraft for £2.99 each. They are not the clear/perspex ones that I was looking for but I think they have turned out really well, I am very pleased with them.
I have used the long compartment on the left for money. I rolled a £10 note around some cardboard then wrapped it in cellophane to look like a sweet.
Each of the labels now have personalised poems each of 2 of my nephews.
I used garden twine to bind the boxes with. These would look great with ribbon & bows if they were for girls though.
I have used a lot of pre wrapped sweets as I am worried about them going stale outside thier wrappers. The unwrapped sweets that I thimk will survive best are the chalk & foam ones.
Have a look at the pics to see what you think!0 -
