Well, I've been searching all over for these plastic boxes and there's none to be found where I live!!

I've been to Pound shop, B & Q, Wilkinsons, (they did have one in the craft shop it was £4.99 which kind of defeated the purpose) - does anyone have any ideas where else I might try?

    Thanks

    Sal

I shoved mine into a bucket for my brother - I thought about a basket, but he'd just throw it away. I left most things in their packets and put some of the little things into little cellophane bags (I make cards, so have them kicking around at home) and tied them shut with coated craft wire. I have to cellophane wrap the whole thing soon though, otherwise the pink shrimps might just disappear...

I got some of the sweets in large multipacks of mixed Swizzles sweets when they were BOGOF in Somerfield, just opened up the bags and sorted the contents into little piles. I've left everything I can sealed as I don't want things to go soft before Christmas.

I was inspired to make up Christmas Hampers from the other thread and now after seeing this one about sweet boxes I have the solution for my friends 4 children. So thanks to everyone for the ideas.

I will be hunting down suitable storage boxes tomorrow and filling with sweetie delights. I have several similar boxes for my cross stitch threads, so if I can't find any cheap boxes I know where I can get some as a last resort.

  • I picked up 2 boxes from The works today (in their craft section) they were 1.49 each, I then went to Tesco and found the ones near the car stuff/paint at 97p so got 2 of those - will be making up 4 1 for dh (retro) 1 for ds (anything I know he likes) 1 for my dad (might do a minty one - thought he could re-use it for bits like nails etc.) and 1 spare (might be for my niece but she is a cealiac (sp) so don't know what sweets she can eat)

Anyway thought I would mention about those that I got today and they had plenty there...

  • Just thought I would let you know these ones on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-12-COMPARTMENT-ORGANISER-STORAGE-BOX-FOR-CRAFTS_W0QQitemZ250169316322QQihZ015QQcategoryZ75576QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

are the ones in tesco that you can get for 97p - the ones I found were on an end aisle (as I said near to the paint/car stuff) - the print on the top of the box is a sticker that comes off easily....
